    Hello!

Welcome from metro Seattle! Sounds like you have a (fun) project in front of you. Good luck! ~G

Do you prefer riding jeans, or textile?

Use both, kinda depends on how lucky I feel. Anything longer than a short local ride (and I mean really short) it's armored jackets and pants. I have a mixture of Motoport and Aerostich with the 'stich getting the nod when there's a threat of moisture. Hospital stays and skin grafts don't...

    Hello Everyone!

Welcome from metro Seattle! Which FJR? Money no object and for piece of mind, buy the new '23. If you do want to save some $$$, I'd thoroughly inspect the '20 and pending no issues found, ride the wheels off it. With 12K kms, mileage is nothing. Either FJR will likely serve you well. Good...

The best year for the FJR1300

Ring and pinion plus shims necessary for proper depth and backlash. If the FD were mine, I'd have a full rebuild completed with fresh everything. ~G

    Cracks in the Aft SubFrame

Probably too late now, but Yamaha also makes a heavy duty replacement rack for their OE 50L trunk. Nice rack, larger than stock and solves the trunk support issue. ~G

    Slider Recommendations

SacMike, (IMHO) if the bike rolls over and tags a mirror with much force, you're likely breaking the front subframe. I've been a long time fan of GSG Moko sliders. They mount to the frame via two motor mount bolts, are nicely finished and solid. I have the original puck style, they also make...

    Dunlop Mutant

Thanks for the update torch! I'm always open to trying different tire(s) on the FJR. Had a set of Scorpion Trail IIs on the Super Ten that I loved, and got close to 11k miles. Ran a set on the FJR, liked them a lot and got right at 9k miles. Decent tires. For the FJR I have a set of RS3s...

is there a better brake lever?

Lots of lever options available, use your google-search-fu to weed them out. Pazzo makes nice pieces. Beware of some CHN knock-offs as the anodizing will fade over time. YMMV ~G

The best year for the FJR1300

Agreeing with harper...but out of the four I've owned, my '09 was the best. Should have never sold that machine! ~G
