Found Heated grips for Gen III

Verified the resistance when I received the grips from @TooManyBikes, and finally got a chance to install today. He graciously sent the throttle side still installed on the throttle tube, which made this about an hour long job start to finish and the grips start heating up even on idle. Thanks...

    Hmmm…If it’s closer to the $300 mark, I’d probably do it, if it’s $900+, @Rocnsanman is right

I can’t believe I’m asking this, but what does shipping look like on the complete engine to 87144?

Found Heated grips for Gen III

Update, pulled the front apart, and tested the resistance. Black plug (assuming that’s left grip) tested perfect, 1.3 ohm. Grey plug (assuming that’s throttle grip) is an open circuit. Looks like my throttle grip is out, when I receive the replacement I’ll swap them out and verify they work then...

    Sold Russell Day-Long (Gen II/III)

It was pretty comfortable, even though I’m guessing the specs will say it was for someone heavier than I, I’ll agree there. Bum thing is I could barely get the tip of my boots down in the low setting and sliding off to one side. I’m used to having a reach because of my inseam, but I felt like...

    Sold Russell Day-Long (Gen II/III)

Purchased a ‘15 that came with a Russell Day-Long set, selling the front/rider seat only. Gotta keep the missus happy in the rear, but it was far too tall for me. Fits Gen II/III. I’ll be calling tomorrow to get the build information. Pics attached. Let’s call it $300 + shipping.

Found Heated grips for Gen III

From what I’m seeing Gen 2 is power modulated via a separate controller, Gen 3 is ground modulated via ECU, it shouldn’t matter a great deal as long as the resistance is similar. If you could PM me pictures of the wires and connectors coming from them with the price that’d be great. Thanks

Found Heated grips for Gen III

Ya, they were set at the factory 10,5,2 and I did try riding it around for a good half hour at decent RPM. I read some threads about them being wired in series, right side is typical failure for wire moving with throttle application, and should read at 1.2-1.7ohm I believe. Just haven’t gotten...

Found Heated grips for Gen III

I still haven’t gotten around to finding a wiring diagram &/or service manual here yet, I’m interested but let me see what info I can find. PM me price?

New Owner - Wild first ride!

I’m pretty sure it held on, I’m thinking if the bead came off it would’ve been a lot worse. I check my pressures before most rides and top off with my Lexin P5 if needed, I think TPMS would be something else I’d get obsessive about lol

New Owner - Wild first ride!

Thanks for the kind words and advice everyone. I got home with the bike just a bit ago and all was well. Owner said he’d never seen anything like it, the tow driver hadn’t heard of it either, and neither of the techs had seen it of course. He said there was no remnant of the valve inside the...

New Owner - Wild first ride!

Owner said he’d have it done as soon as they get in this morning so I’ll make sure to carefully inspect before I get out on the road again.

New Owner - Wild first ride!

Rubber valve stems, not sure what could’ve happened. Although just prior to the wobble and fighting I did have the cruise set *ahem* above the speed limit coming down the interstate to head home…Maybe the increased speed increased the heat which increased the tire PSI too high and blew it out?
