I had a 07AE and ran 87 octane for a couple years, no problems. On a ride coming home from Reno, Nv stopped to refuel and the station only had 89 octane. I found the bike ran better, fuel mileage increased, probably due to the increase in performance. After that never went back to 87 octane...
