I've checked the owners manual, the Bin O Facts, the How Tos etc. I've removed 3 bolts and 3 fasteners on Panel E. I do no see how it will come off without removing the gray piece that surrounds the bottom of the gas tank. And, is the catch on the bottom just a rubber gromet pull off and push on deal? I would appreciate some help.

OK - the tank band has two screws - evident, easy to find. Take off the seat.

Then - two plastic fasteners - hold the band to the side panels.

The front of the band on each side has a 'peg' that fits into a rubber grommet in the tank- GENTLY pull these out, then slide the band backwards, as each side has a very small 'pocket' that a tab on the tank fits into.

Sounds like a lot, but I can take that sucker off in about 45 seconds. Once you figure it out, there's nuttin' to it.

Good luck. And don't break it. It ain't one of the cheaper parts.
