2012 CBA Certification Run

Thanks to climate change I was able to get the FJR out for another run today. The weather was completely wacky since here was the view from the cage coming back from RaYzerman's only two days ago ...



When I got back to Bowmanville the mall parking lot had a bunch of stuff of which BeemerDons has no concept ....



I can prove I was at Ray's since Ray is the only person I know that has Red Wing glassware ...



By Sunday morning Climate Change had done it's thing and when it was time for my morning coffee at Tim Horton's it looked like this ...



After the compulsory morning Tim Horton's coffee I headed north to see where all the white stuff had gone. It wasn't long before I found it ...



It was melting quick though so I thought I head over to Mosport Raceway to see if anyone was laying down any hot laps ...



There was still some snow drifts about so no hot laps today. Since there still was some snow around maybe I should check out the local ski hill known locally as the Kirby Ski Bump, 350 vertical feet of boilerplate awesomeness ...



I haven't mounted the ski racks to the FJR so I had to head back out on my travels. A little further along I came upon the pond at Garden Hill. In Arizona this would considered a lake but in these parts this is barely above a puddle ...



Still some ice but there was some indications of break-up. Just last weekend a number of fools had to rescued off of Lake Simcoe when they got stranded ice fishing on an ice flow. They were able to catch quite a bit of ice however.

By this time I had gone almost 40 miles and was feeling peckish so I headed south down to Port Hope for a Turkey Sandwich and a Cafe Mocha. Us CBA types need our replenishment ...



After a pause to restock my energy reserves it was time to follow the coastline back towards home following the Lakeshore Road. It will bring a tear to the eye of the PNW crew to hear that there will soon be one less wood bridge in the Great White North ...





The last stop on this epic ride (127.1 km) was at the Newcastle Beach where even the waves were of Candy Ass proportions ...



I offer the following documentation to our Fearless Leader for my CBA Ride certification. The route (127.1 km or 78.9 miles) ...



As per the CBA charter and regulations I did not go too high or too low in elevation...



While the distance is over the official maximum limit of 60 miles I feel that stopping due to becoming peckish before 40 miles is a mitigating factor.

Sure seems to me all of the qualifications are met for the CBA, and chest thumping is in order. Now will somebody kindly tell our Confused Cannuck this is not the CBA forum. But do whisper please as not to confuse or embarass him.

My wife is from Langenburg, SK. I thought I knew what cold was all about until I went back with her the first time for Christmas. I almost cried!

I agree about the wood bridges - goes for the grain elevators too.

So what does the CBA cert do for you?

A CBA cert means that I never ride past a Tim Horton's without stopping.

Have Tim Card. Will Travel (to the local Tim Horton's)

I don't know, that much mileage, even in multiple sittings, is really pushing it. Did you take all day? That might help you qualify

Environment Canada is forecasting some fantastic weather for this week considering it is March. I see a ride to Niagara Falls in the near future is in order.

I was not able to leave Tim Horton's until almost noon by the time I solve all the world problems with the rest of the retired folks that I sit with at Timmy's. My addiction to Tim Horton's coffee is so bad we have our own reserved table.

Nay, nay, oh FarWestSlowEdward, the vast majority of riders here on the fjrforum qualify as CBA riders, if you get my drift!

As far as this ride, and report, and rider, well all I can say is that all of the before mentioned aspects of this motobike ride are

I am SOOOO proud. :bb2:

To my knowledge I may be the first to have my CBA ride certified!!! Does this mean I get a seat at the head table at NAFO?? :unknw:

Although I don't have any photos, I actually rode for about 5 hours on Sunday with... MY WIFE on the bike!! Lunch at Mr.Sub and a tour around our fair city looking at potential retirement bungalos. She never rides. All that sunshine must have made her crazy. It sure was funny to pull up beside the snowmobile dudes pulling their sleds home.

Oh god, 5hrs... that put her in range of me for payback.

As for the new Rotten Ronnie's coffee. It' kicks Timmies ass.

It'll be a bit before I get the bike out for the season. We still have ice and sand and shit on roads. Besides, I've got to rebuild my calipers and put in new pads in the front. Oh ya, I fix a weepy fork seal. Good thing I still have my little piss cutter bike!

Hey! I want one of those too!

In celebration of my recent CBA Certification Run I took a ride over to Whitby and stopped in at the Pita Deli ...



I ordered up the Roast Beef Pita Combo ...



I overdid it a bit with the hot sauce and the ride home was assisted with some jet propulsion if you get my drift.
