Still in the planning stages, nothing definite yet. A get-outta-town, have some seafood weekend. Prolly stay 13th Ave N in MB. Never been to historic Georgetown so that's been tossed up with dinner on the waterfront there. As has the Southport/Ft Fischer Ferry island hop loop ride.

Lemme know if yer goin'.

Jealous, wish I could join ya... Had many misadventures on Myrtle Beach back in my paratrooper days when the lads and I would motor down from Ft Bragg.

Funny, my misadventures there began in my submarine days when we'd motor up from Charleston in the early 80s. Been going there ever since....

Thus far I'm going solo. F 'em, their loss. Some definites:

- leisurely ride down, stopping at a couple of State Parks. I started last year with the goal of visiting all in NC. Should be about 6 hrs for a normal 3 1/2 hr ride.

- staying in the Best Western, Ocean Blvd, about 15th Ave S in North Myrtle Beach. Visiting with folks about 8 blocks walk or a short cab ride as my choice is I never ride after even 1 beer.

- Saturday: ride to Southport, ferry to Fort Fischer, up to Wilmington and round south again. Planning on dinner down in Georgetown. More beer with friends after.

That about covers it.

It struck me this morning that I hadn't posted up anything about this so here goes:

Part of the trip with Ken the HD Guy was to visit a couple previously unseen state parks so Friday:

This one isn't even listed on e the state's website as a state park, I just happened to see it on a map. I wonder how many more we have in North Carolina like this? To get this pic I rode through about 30 yds of 1- 1 1/2 feet of loose sand.

This one is one of our state's newest additions. The sign hasn't been changed yet.

Another part of the trip was to do something we'd not done before so Saturday we rode a ferry from Southport, NC to Ft Fischer, NC.

Saturday evening was dinner in historic Georgetown, neither of us had been there. Sorry, no food porn. But it was really good. I'm gonna have to go down that way again.
