To the Red Horse restaurant in Ellensburg Wa. that is. First decent ride of the spring, 324 miles round trip. Went 405 to I-90 and then over the pass, snow at summit receding rapidly, ski stuff closed (no traffic). Pass was bare and dry. Exited at Cle Elum for the old highway 10 ride in to Ellensburg. Spring seems to have arrived in Eastern Wa., all you have to do is get there. Food and service were great at the Red Horse, just like last year. If you go that way (East) on 10 at the first stop sign go straight, at the second stop sign turn right and almost immediately turn left at the next stop sign, down the hill you will see the Red Horse on the right. Give yourself a bit of time to look at all the memorabilia. Great cheeseburgers. Backtracking we took 97 N. over Blewett pass (Ahhhhhhh) to hwy 2, coffee at the big Y café and back S. over Blewett again (Ahhhhhh again) to Cle Elum and I-90 homeward. Got off at the Fall city exit to Carnation took West Valley road N. to Highbridge and home. Left Snohomish at 0930 and was home by 1640 and no performance awards although several wsp sightings (after the Escort alerts). Did this Tues. 1 apr.

Blewett pass is one of the best. Even better without traffic or law enforcement.

Always good to get over the pass and dry out a bit. Echoing Ray, a clean run over Blewett makes a nice day even better.

Weather next week is looking pretty good...maybe a three pass blast is in order!

Thanks for the info. I am planning to ride to Leavenworth next week some day.

Since I am in Olympia I will probably do hwy 12 (White Pass) and north from there.
