Glacier NP from Olympia WA

I just got back from a great five days ride from Olympia to Glacier NP and back with my friend Rod on his Goldwing. It was my first time to Montana and a great experience.

We did not stop often just for pics, but here are some.

Day 1: Olympia to Republic WA.



Deception Pass Viewpoint.



Deception Pass bridge.



Rainy Pass summit on Hwy 20 in the Northern Cascades. Much less snow than when I was there in May.



Republic was a great little town to spend the night. We stayed at the Northern Inn.

Day 2: Republic WA to Kalispell MT.



Hwy 200 in Idaho.



Hwy 56 in Montana. Great road.

Day 3: Kalispell MT to Missoula MT via Glacier NP.



Going-to-the-sun Road through the Glacier NP. Logan Pass.

Henry, Nice RR this is on my bucket list.

Unfortunately there were roadworks and nine miles of gravel road on the east side just before St. Mary. Raven (my bike) got covered in white mud.



Day 4: Missoula MT to Walla Walla WA.



Hwy 12 along the Clearwater River ID.



View from the top of the Old Spiral Highway at Lewiston ID. The highest temperature of the trip was in Lewiston at 102F.

White Pass was great but no pics taken.

Thanks for the report! Love the pics. We hope to be riding GTNP over Labor Day. Was the gravel and roadwork on Going to the Sun road?

Yes, the roadworks were on the going to the sun road starting just east of the visitor center and almost to St Mary.

This trip is also on my bucket list for sure. Most excellent pictures - thanks for the ride report.

Glad to see they finally opened up the Going To The Sun Road - it was still closed when I was there on July 1st. Loved your pics. Wish I would have know about the Lewiston spiral road when I went through there.

Just got back from 10 days approx 4k miles,, from sac to golden, bc and one day in glacier and hwy 12 - totally loved hwy 12 , will post some pics and vids later - your pics may be better Though
