The best dash yet! Very light aluminum construction W/ Stainless Steel hardware.

Very stable platform, simple design, and installs in minutes. Uses two factory attachment points and hardware.

The design process included 3 prototypes. We wanted to get it right.

Black textured powdercoat. Includes printed instructions and a GPS Bracket. ($15.00 value), and shipping to the 48 lower states.

The bracket will assist in attaching a Garmin motorcycle mount.

You can be the first one to buy it, install it with the directions he provides, and post up! These shelves are simply the best for the FJR. Since nobody on the forum has one yet....if you REALLY need an install picture check out one of the many on a Gen 1 or Gen 2. Basically the same. Trust me....cateye's stuff is solid!

You should buy the GENIII first........bonehead!

These look like a much easier install than the Gen II, which was itself a pretty easy install. +1 on the quality of the shelf.

I have a Gen II. Nice build. Easy to install.

On the photo, what is the separate smaller piece for? Just curious.

Mounting a GPS.

This was not included with the first 6 dashes that were shipped. This will make it real easy.

Installation steps:

1. Flip dash over on its back on a towel or scratch resistant surface.
2. Fasten the two support bars to the dash using the supplied hardware.
3. Tighten enough so that they will stay in position. They you be angled about 15 degrees forward towards the nose.
4. Remove the two factory screws on the inside of the fairing to the left and right of the gages.
5. Raise the windshield all the way up.
6. Place some masking tape a few inches above the Yamaha emblem so the nose can’t scratch the fairing.
7. Attach the supports to the factory holes on the inside of the fairing.
8. Move dash to desired position checking clearance to windshield supports.
9. Move windshield up and down to double check nothing hits. (The length of the supports does most of the work to find the sweet spot for the dash. This was heavily scrutinized in the design process)
10. Mark and drill the hole centered with the Yamaha emblem.
11. You can use the rubber washer if you want to put a little space between the nose and the fairing.
12. Now you are ready to start mounting your farkles and electronic gadgets!

Note: Before fastening any accessories to your dash check clearance by moving the windshield up and down. In most situations, the taller the accessory the further you will want to mount it to the rear of the dash. (closer to the rider)

Actually, this particular thread was moved from the Classified section to this special area.
