I'll be up at my mum's place for Thanksgiving (Somerset) and was talking to Doug/Bugnatr about getting together and he mentioned that it'd been awhile since we'd had a group gathering so we thought it'd be good to set one up. I'm not real familiar with the Sacramento area or nearby (Folsom, El Dorado Hills, etc.?) so am open to suggestions from the peanut gallery. Thinking early-ish for either brunch or lunch.

For those who might not be on 2-wheels at the time or if the weather is sucky, come any way you can as it would be wonderful to see your smiling face(s)!

I might slab it down. I'll keep an eye out for updates.

No help in the Sac area, perhaps, someone who has Sac in his Nom De Plume can enlighten us?

Just saw Bug's better half at the grocery store within the last hour, and she mentioned this. Not certain yet, pending my sister's plans (originally set for this weekend) to be up north in Napa, which could supersede my otherwise probable attendance. Folsom or El Dorado Hills sounds great, but FWIW, here's another place we've met for lunch a couple times before in Orangevale (Andrew Knight's daughter worked here before college):

Sorry I can't figure out how to manipulate links from the iPad, but it's O'Connor's Santa Maria Grill on Greenback.

Food? Let's EAT!!

Perhaps the Sacto crowd knows a good location near Hwy 50 /folsom? The less concrete jungle the better during a holiday weekend as we country folk get scared real easily with the big city traffic.

There is a place called the Purple Place on Green Valley, that does good brunches ( between folsom and EDH) that we go to - BUT it gets busy - i think you can make reservations though ( we never bothered as it was just me and my better half so we just hung out) - i cant make it either unfortunately - thanks for the shout

Another possible option is the casino Redhawk or Jackson Rancheria

and lastly - there's "the Pub at Fairplay" , almost spitting distance to somerset - maybe send a family advance party to check it out this Sunday

hope some of this helps

Obviously I can't attend, but I'd like to recommend the Hog Wild BBQ in Placerville. Easy to reach and the guy that cooks and owns it is a rider with lots of stories and very very accommodating and friendly. Does all the cooking and smoking on the premises, and I got a tour of the kitchen and can vouch that he does things right. Just give him a heads up if you have a larger group.

I always thought this would be a great RTE destination. Fast service, inexpensive and you can push the tables together. It's close and relatively undiscovered, above the fog, and near Hwy 49, right by the new Placerville Drive bridge.

Wish we could make it but entertaining the in-laws.

Friends and relatives will be coming to Palm Springs on that date.

I am sorry I have to miss this.

Good timing has not been my friend lately.

The Weather Channel weather guessers have Saturday's guess forecast at 90% chance of rain right now. Maybe I'll paint a room or two instead and pray we get some snow up the mountain.
