So after getting my A-Fib back in order (zap-zap! and, as so kindly made public by TominCA). Myself and Debbie packed our bags for where else?... Yep, Sin City (aka: Viva Lost Wages). It was to be a semi short trip, coming in on a Sat and leaving that Weds. It has been quite awhile for Debbie and only her 2nd visit overall, my 8th, not a gambler per-say, just had conventions there for my business (mostly).

Incoming! Sat nite, our non-direct flight was a total of 14.5hrs. A 2.5 lay over in Newark gave us a nice happy hour at an airport bar. I knew the drinks would only get more expensive, but hey, that's what vaca's are for right? cough-cough

We stayed at the Trump Tower. Top notch all the way. I've gotta spoil my Ms. Debbie once n awhile ;)

We didn't venture out the 1st night, now nearing 1am local, we were still feeling the EST time-zone which equaled 4am. Our hotel lobby views got us pumped for tomorrow somewhat....

The next morning, we got in our rental car and I ventured off and down to Hoover Dam as Debbie said she has never been there. Love the newbies look on their faces when you show them something big, bold and superior lol ;)

After she finally got tired of hearing all my "This place is Dam fascinating" jokes, and I prolly laid on about 20 different corney ones to her, I figured it's time she got laid in two States at once. Well, squatted at least...

After the sightseeing, I suggest we load up on booze for our room. We take in some really cool and intersting twisty roads going the way my Galaxy S4 tells me to for a liquor store. Problem is... No Dam liquor stores even close! ha, had to get in another one ;)

Back to our home, at least for the next 4 more days :)

trump.jpg

So we bought a magnum of Kettle-One Vodka, several mixers like cranberry and 3 bottles of wine, an 18 pack of beer (admit sadly tho it had to be Mich Ultra for Deb). It's always about Debbie... haha, that's what I tell her anyway. So, she has this crazy idea of getting in our Trump robes. I resisted and said that's stupid, it's 4 O'clock in the afternoon!... well, until she said it would be worth it. Sold! I'm easy, what can I say ;)

A selfie of a selfie

20141104_182354_zps1340af69.jpg

So after a walk-in shower, and big enough for 10 people to get in, we dress and get room service for a couple of apps to help soak up the Kettle-One :) Heck, we haven't even hit the strip yet! Oh so much to do I'm thinking at this point....

20141102_160716_zps9d470011.jpg

As you can tell, we ain't in Texas.

20141102_161010_zpsf8a4d364.jpg

So off to the strip we shall go, Miracle Mile to some, I just say Strip (cuz I love that word).

20141102_191456_zpsc6858a49.jpg

Nor sure how this got so dark, sure wasn't in person. I needed sunglasses at night (hey, that was a Cory somebody song wasn't it?)

20141102_191512_zpsfb98b4c2.jpg

We ended up at the Harley Davidson Cafe on the strip for our chow and of course we were plenty dehydrated, so $15 drinks were in order. Well, not b/c of the price, that's just they way it is there for 2 shot drinks. Good thing we didn't need anymore than 2 each.

We worked off the booze by laying around the pool during the days. Man, I sure was loving the mid 70's and not a cloud in the sky weather!...

20141104_130443_zps65b362ed.jpg

I have to sneak pics of Debbie when she's laying out. You know, no makeup and womenz are just crazy and paranoid that they look bad ;) ....So I bounce a reflection off of the Trump Towers gold mirrored windows....

20141104_130418_zps58348b43.jpg

Just for my buddy Pappa-Beemer-Don Stanley... ( nobody else look please ;) )

20141104_130400_zps5e9e903c.jpg

As she see's me, I quickly point my camera <up> and take this Trump upshot. I'm a sneaky lil bass-tard!

--------------<Con't to 2/2>---------------

--------------<part 2/2>---------------

I had just 2 things (list wise) on my now 8th trip to Vegas. Go to the Gold and Silver Shop (home of the TV show "Pawn Stars") and do a dinner at Gordon Ramsey's new restaurant at Caesars Palace. The rest was all for Debbie. No, I mean it. :p

I'm a fan of the show, what can I say. When I saw it in real life after all the times on TV, man, as Rick would say "It was really cool!"

20141104_143607_zpsfba088cb.jpg

20141104_143524_zpscaffa850.jpg

I tried my best "Rick" imitation. Debbie thought I looked just like him! ...not sure if that is a compliment tho, hmmm?

20141104_142545_zps8fcd010d.jpg

The guy is so friggen knowledgeable about history and things related, has a memory like an elephant (which I'm not sure how much of a compliment that really is?), I do really look up to him... but I guess not in reality. This was as close as I got to seeing him btw.... As soon as Deb snapped this, a sales associate saw my Mavado elite edition watch and wanted to know if I wanted to do something with it? ...yeah, right dude.

20141104_142951_zpsfaed5216.jpg

My only disappointment was the size of the shop. I expected bigger. There is another wing or part off to the left but that's about it.

20141104_142702_zps554eb4cb.jpg

20141104_142709_zps6b8f57fe.jpg

So we go out, buy a hotdog at the Chumlee Weenie stand (he was nowhere to be found however) and I tell Debbie we need to circumference the joint as I wanted to see the bay where they bring in the cars.

20141104_143918_zpsdfdb7912.jpg

Around the backside I find an interesting mural on an access door

20141104_143801_zpsb7a35c4f.jpg

And then, low and behold.... the famous bay! (where I have drooled over maybe a hundred vehicle drive-ins prior) And the door is open! Holy Cow! (almost to orgasm stage here!)... awe shucks, looks like a work crew day though...

20141104_143815_zps8c68fa43.jpg

What a let down, after seeing the door open. ugh! On a side note, there is a totally Nude strip joint accross the parking lot. I'm betting Chumlee and Cory are VIP's there and when Rick can't find 'em in the shop during filming... hehe
wink.png

Traveling a little further to the old Downtown on Las Vegas Blvd, I take Debbie to Freemont St. She said she didn't even know what that is? Well, I ddi tell you this trip was all about Debbie didn't I?
wink.png

20141104_151047_zpsc99b2d2c.jpg

I also wanna show her how to play Craps. I walk into Binions, scope and find a table that is active and the limit isn't crazy. Debbie has since been "lured" in by the locals... a shop that is telling her that they have anti aging and wrinkle-out cream. I bolted quickly after hearing that BS. Layed down a $20 chip on the Come-Out Roll on the Pass line. A guy throwing gives me a 7. Sweet, instant pay on the come out. I then get the cream saleman walking in (open air to street Casino) and takes me away to see "my wife". Here's what I get taken away for (WTF!)...

20141104_151544_zps5cf66961.jpg

The salesman slowly tells me it's only $300. Debbie says it feels good. After wiping off the (snake oil) she says it's good. I don't buy like that and I pull her away. No argument once I said "you can buy it, I don't care honey" keyword was "you" hehe. So I said what happened to Craps? I was supposed to show you how fun it can be? Well upon returning, my gal running the table gets a shift change... A HUGE (fake) busted young girl walks in and asks us if we want in? I say sure!... Debbie says "no thanks!" and more quietly said "you skank". Oh boy, jealous is certainly not one of her strong points. I got some shit too, she said I picked that table on purpose. Yeah OK, have you never seen a floor swapout? Womenz!

Left as darkness set in for happy hour back at our hotel.

20141104_164632_zps313ec2d5.jpg

So another Robe donning happy hour, I'll save you the sexting of such. My goal after was to do dinner at the new Gordon Ramsey's at Caesar's Palace. Had 9'oclock ressies (made at home, before we even took off).

20141102_191427_zps2f728f06.jpg

We were pretty much in the bag by the time our taxi dropped us off. Avoided the Forum of Shops (on my own purpose) and what she doesn't know I knew wouldn't hurt her
wink.png
So (almost) shit-faced we had to have some of Gordon's drink concoctions....

20141102_194011_zps573aaac4.jpg

We both had 2, or was it 3, or 4 lol, as we sampled the varieties of cool drinks. We were def shit-faced by the time our appetizers showed let alone our main entree's. I even forgot (or couldn't function enough) to take any more pics. I do remember that I had his famous Sheppards Pie for my entree. Thats' about it, I can't critique it, sorry. Booze is a terrible thing and you know the saying... What happens in Vegas....

Flying out at 11:35 am, out heads were just coming around. Lake Mead....

Kewl! ...for our hop-over flight to Rochester NY

Someday I'm going to do Vegas by bike (either rental or ride my own out there). I really like the des-zert. We never saw a single cloud in the sky the whole 5 days we were there. Not a one. My reasoning why? Cuz they all go to the Great Lakes area, that's why!

I'll be keeping a close eye on Heidi's bike rental trip to Vegas. There are so many neat and cool places to go and by bike and I'm thinking this may be one that has to be on my list. Stay thirsty my friends, at least till your done riding then hit it like a Rock Star!

I really shouldn't be reading this while at work, even if it is lunchtime.

Co-workers are wondering why I'm snickering like a dumbass fool.

Great write-up KJ!

A very nice fun Report KJ, Thank You! Miss Donna and I run up to Las Vegas every few months, we like to stay at the Golden Nugget. I've gambled enough there, I get comp'd! JSNS!

Very nice. You really know how to enjoy yourself.

The last time I stopped in Vegas for anything other than fuel was back in 1976. I did enjoy the Golden Nugget and surrounding casinos, but there was no roof thing over the street. At the time I could play table games for 25 cents. Drinks were free and food was very cheap. The big table prices these days keep me away from the casinos.

You have too much fun damn it! That's no way to look after your heart drinkin' and carrying on. It's feckin' cold here and I gotta watch you cavorting with girls and drinkin and swimin' an'nat dammit!

Very nice report!

KJ you should be a big city tour guide- any big city. You have a talent for sniffing out all the fun spots while having a ball.

Did you take the Dam tour? Did you see Donnie and Marie? It must have really sucked going back to the frozen east.

Fly to Vegas, rent bike and ride southern Utah Vacationland. Really, really good stuff on a bike.

U guys are way more entertaining than my report.

Doug; As long as my tour guide peeps are not stuff' shirts, I'm game!. I'll make sure it will be big fun (and u prolly know this now after meeting my crazy ass!). But, it sure helps to have such a vast playing field like Vegas, so no cuddos to me at least on this one. Maybe if I could make everybody do jumping jacks in the middle of a manure field, then you can give me some tour-guide love.

We saw 2 shows while there (not sure why I didn't include this in my report?, anywhoooo...

The first was the "Vegas, the Show" at Planet Hollywood. Debbie's pick. It featured the time and journey of the lead entertainers in Vegas (thru years to present) from the likes of Wayne Newton, Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra incl the whole Rat Pack, Liberace, Elvis, Sigfried and Roy, Tony Orlando and even Michael Jackson. All singers, dancers, magicians, high wire acts etc. replicating these past shows were tremendous. We walked away with HUGE smiles. Debbie sporting her Christian Loubouton shoes (the infamous red healed ones) that I bought her for her Birthday last Feb. First wearing for her, I guess she said our area isn't worthy. IDK, she's nutz, what can I say. She may be Mrs Nutz pretty soon! Shussshhhh! ;)

So, I knew the upgrading seats (game) ahead of time, I pre-purchased 4 cocktails and my tickets were immediately sent to the 3rd row in the Theater.

The other show was Recycled Percussion. Amazing! I tried to get in on the Blue Man Group but didn't have enough lead time for any decent seats so..... I was highly re-routed to this show by more than a few. Man, it was bad ass to say the least. We sat next to a follies show girl (her night off) and she proclaimed it to be her 15th RP show. Dang, we were newb's, but in total awe....

Thanks KJ, Mrs Bug and I may do a cage road trip down through Death Valley and on to Vegas in early December. We went there on our Honeymoon with a small rv I had way back then so this would be a second honeymoon trip. Romantic devil aren't I.

I'm going to look into the shows, I'll just drop your name and we will be in link Flint.

Congrats on getting the A-fib fixed.

I was tempted not to read your report since "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas". But since you offered....

Sounds like a fun celebration. Meanwhile, back in the snow.

Thanks for taking us along KJ...

Quite a trip you had. It's always nice to get out of the great weather were having in the frozen north. Great to hear that your A-Fib is in check as the sled season is fast approaching, you just need to head a little west or east it seems.

Say Hi to Mrs. Nutz for us. Opps, not yet. I mean Debbie.

A view of the Hover Dam nobody thought we would see again. One year when we were at the dam there was so much water that they were afraid that it might overwhelm the spillways.

800px-Damupstream.jpg

I can tell you from our time in CA that there are a lot of areas hurting for water. We saw lots of very low to dry lakes. It's going to take a long time to recover from the drought. And please, don't try to fix the situation in just a few biblical scale outpourings, slow and steady please.
