The If 6 was 9 with Flowers ride report.

I decided to go for a little ride on Easter Sunday. Here is my route, one I ride frequently in the winter and early spring. The idea of this ride was to try out some new motorcycle boots, a thin excuse, see some flowering trees and the soft green color of new leaves on the trees.

I am near Victor Washington when my odometer on my 09 says 50,000 miles.

About this time my mind start humming the song If 6 was 9 is a song by Jimi Hendrix. In this case 50,000 is 62080 and I don't mind, I don't mind. At 12080 miles Yamaha replaced my instrument cluster because the gear indicator failed. I was on Yamaha's dime because I was covered by YES, yes! I don't mind, I don't mind.

Shortly after the flashback in Victor I stop near Union Washington on Hwy 302 and take a few photos of Puget Sound.

Notice the Olympic Mountains in the background - mostly void of snow this year - very odd.

Hwy 302 at the point were these photos were stolen!

Here is the flower part of this ride report, the flowering trees. Very nice. I sure am lucky to live in such as scenic area with great roads to ride on.

A nice road, the Purdy Cutoff road.

More flowers on trees.

Very nice! I had to pull over to take this one and it was worth it.

Onward to Bunker Creek Rd. road to take a shot of these trees.

Then more flowers.

It was a wonderful day to be on the FJR and the boots worked great.

Hey --G how about a riding mower ride report with a route?

I mean with your back 40 you'd need a GPS to find our way out. Fact is free time is precious and you are smart guy - I am surprised you haven't wired a GPS and control systems to your lawn mower so it can follow a route on auto pilot.

I got to ride the tractor / snowblower. We had drifting snow so I ended up with about 18" in my driveway. We may be a month from bare roads if the long term forecast holds true. The bike is in a storage building 40 ft behind my garage and there is a level 4 ft of snow between them.

I enjoyed seeing your pictures, gives me hope that spring may show up sooner or later!

Rick

I youtubed that song and listened while I read the report - the two went well together!!!

Are those flowering trees of the cherry variety?

Thanks! My mind tends to wander to strange places when I ride, very relaxing.

Yes I believe they are flowering cherry trees. There are lots of them around in the Western Washington lowlands right now.
