My bucket list is dwindling down now. I would like to have other riders join me,

Here is my list:

Headwaters Gold (Miss. river- LA-MN)

Sunrise to Sunset (Eastport, ME to LaPush, WA)

50CC THW (SF-NY)

Florida Keys SS1000

Haul RD SS1000

Heaven to Hell (PikesPeak-Death Valley)

BBG on my BMW Dakar (Single Cyl.)

If you see a ride that interest you let me know.

My last 10/10ths on my '05 will most likely be a dash up the coast to Eastport, ME for the Sunrise to Sunset. Drop down to SF for the 50CC THW to NY.

Then home to West Palm Beach, FL.

On your sojurn to LaPush here in Wa., depending on your schedule, I would buy you a cup of coffee somewhere along the way.

Tony, you're tire budget must be equal to my annual car payments for Christ sakes!

You missed one.

Ride to the HondaRosa. Do 10 laps on an old yz426 (HA!) on a little ol' MX track in the back woods of Creston..

Then, eat, drink, ride some bitchen twisty fun phast back roads very few know of in central Kali....

Yah, that's what should be on yer bucket list, mi amigo...

Either that, or ride a truly vintage bike for a SS1K or better... you up for it?

As long as you don't mind waiting for me to catch up with you in the bent roads (?) All our roads here in South Florida are straightened and pressed.

The Heaven to Hell (PikesPeak-Death Valley) is on my list as well, probably looking at doing this next spring. What is your time frame for doing these rides? Are you going to knock them all out this year?

Hey Tony,

Long time no see. Hope you are well. Thinking about your Heaven to Hell trip, I got a kick out of the name. I've been to both and can attest to the accuracy of that description. Just don't do it in July like I did. During that month the only Death Valley you wanna see is on a postcard.

On the way down the mountain from Pike's Peak, there's a little ice cream shop next to the highway. The stuff on the walls will take a half hour minimum to check out. Worth the time to stop in. Plus it gives the ears a chance to equalize for those with stuffy ears like mine. Always lose my hearing when descending too quickly. Big pain when I'm taking a flight somewhere. Good luck with yer rides.

Tony, let me know what your thoughts are on the Haul Rd SS1K. Beginning of this year I thought I would be making a trip up to Deadhorse, but other rides formulated as the Spring progressed, Deadhorse got squeezed out. So maybe if your plan is for next year and somehow doesn't clash around the time of BL8.....well then maybe.

Time frame on these rides -

'15 - '16

Sources tell me the 50CC THW will be

on the MTF planned rides next year. If so, I will do a Sunrise to Sunset and do the 50CC THW back with them.

The Heaven to Hell, I am very flexible on and will ride over for that one off the clock.

The Haul Rd. SS1k will most likely be part of someone's UCC ride.

BBG on the Dakar - November in Florida before its sale next spring.

Florida Keys SS1k- jgreen controls these plans and he is leaning towards September.

Headwaters Gold- most likely in conjunction with CFO (To or From)

Update on this post:

The Miss. Headwaters Gold will most likely be my next ride. September 6th or 7th start out of Louisiana and ending in Minn.

My plans are to drop south after the ride and visit family until CFO.

IF I have a running FJR by then…

Have you done the Big Sky Rally? I just completed it this weekend. The organizers really upped the ante on this rally this year. It was extremely complex and challenging, and nothing like the last one 2 years ago. There were many "significant events" during this rally and as the dust settles I am sure we will all be hearing about some of them.

I was just happy to qualify, and finish on time with 1503 miles in 36 hours... There were quite a few famous entrants that were DNF's for various reasons, some tragic.

But I can attest that this rally can be an excellent way to see the eastern part of the PNW, especially Montana.

I have heard some of the "Events"… at least one tragic one. Montana is beautiful for sure and I STILL have not made it to Glacier NP.

I am not a rally type otherwise Big-Sky Rally would be a must. Curious though, Is that rally routing on the clock?

Congrats on your finish!

The rally pack was given out at 2PM Friday, with a 4AM Saturday start., and there was a dinner and a meeting later on that night. It was a bit awkward, I thought, because most of us took our rally packs at 2PM and headed to our rooms to wrap our heads around it. It was complex, and it took a lot of thought and analysis. Then at 7PM we had a meeting to go over the rules, and we were offered an optional change which basically could have completely destroyed any planning you had done already. Which could have meant staying up later re-routing before a 4AM start, and/or re-routing on the fly (which would be against the "plan the ride, ride the plan" mantra.

The non-Montanan's told me about some great roads they had found, that I've never been too. (and I've seen a lot, between my motorcycle touring, and travelling for my son's hockey games, and my daughters's softball games)

Tony- Are these all stag or are some with womenz? After my last Months 8200mi/16 day venture (which ended up at Pikes Peak), I've been officially "cut-off".......well, unless I include "her" ;) Maybe if you're going to EOM again, you can talk some sense into her! :) ...yes, I'll be buying drinks, and, all night long if you can persuade her.

Great list btw, you've already been everywhere compared to me, so my list is a bit longer ;)

I'm sure the longer trips on your list are all stag. My buddy Steamer always talks about doing a coast-to-coaster, guess that would be pretty much the Sunrise/Sunset trip :)

These rides are the solo rides. I have found that my wife's seat of preference on a long trip is located next to the window on an airplane.

So when the destination is a lengthy distance, I fly her to a nearby airport and we leave from there.

The Sunrise to Sunset is actually much longer than the 50cc, therefore you have 3 days to complete it. On that ride I would like to time my ride so that I can shoot up the coast

from Florida to Maine without getting caught in traffic. Otherwise I would take the I-81 route for better riding.

I am waiting on MTF to release next years schedule.

I got a text from a friend for the Florida Keys ride… looking at Sept. 21 (?)

So:

Miss. Headwaters, CFO and Florida Keys SS for sure, EOM is on the "Wait and see" list. (Most likely solo)

Well my plans have firmed up... And my route has changed. I will be riding the Heaven To Hell right after NAFO in Montrose, however, instead of Pikes Peak I am starting from Mt. Evans which has a sign that reads that it is the highest paved road. Still going through Independence pass and Ely to qualify for Gold status. Booked rooms at the start in Idaho Springs, and the end by Bad water basin at the Longstreet Inn and Casino.
