Football season is rapidly approaching and my Saturdays will be occupied through Thanksgiving. Before that occurs, I'd like to see how many southeastern FJR folks will show up for an unstructured RTE.

Saturday, August 22 is open on my calendar, so there's the date.
Scooters Bar-B-Que & Grill, 7052 U.S. 441, Dillard, GA 30537 (GPS: 34.976011, -83.383431) has good-to-decent reviews and is about 2.5 hours from Atlanta, Knoxville, and Greenville, so there's the place.
1:00 pm means no one leaves too early in the morning, so there's the time.
Unstructured means ride there, eat, say hello, and ride home.
Rain or shine, folks; we're supposed to be TOURING bikers.

I am sure you can sample a bunch of twisty roads on the way there and on the way home. I am equally sure somebody can offer up a 1-hour spin through the adjacent mountains, but I am already pushing the envelope of my host/organizer skills. (Perhaps: Dillard ---> Clayton ---> Warwoman Road ---> GA 28 ---> Highlands ---> Scaly Mountain ---> Dillard?)

Despite living my entire life attempting to jettison responsibility, I will obligate myself for three items beyond the many offered above:
1) Personally scope out Scooters prior to, done
2) Solemnly promise to get there early (barring serious catastrophe), and
3) Provide cell phone number for the inevitable last-minute shit. PM me

PS: All bikes welcome (of course) and if you want to ride here from Houston, well, you'll be welcome, too.

Hey, I'll check my calendar...if I'm not helping the daughter move into her dorm that weekend..then I'm in.

I say you've got mad organizing skills!

That's an 8 1/2 hour ride for me, and I'm no Tony. You guys enjoy, and I'll see you at EOM.

Damn, that's 522 miles from home, about 8 hours. I can do a one-way but as mentioned above, I'm not Tony so I can't go down and back on the same day. You folks have fun and I'll see those who attend EOM!

I'd love to, but that is my son's b'day, plus a fundraiser at school that I have signed up to help set up.

I could do something on the 15th, though.

This is a pig in a poke. Don't think anybody's ever been to Scooters -- I haven't. It just happens to be roughly in the middle, so let's hope there is food porn.

Dang..that's tempting....I could get off work at 8:00... sleep for a few hours...make it to lunch...back home to sleep some more....then up and off to be at work by 10:00. It's do-able....

And Carla will be here by then. Her bike is already here. So mark me as "tentative".
