Anyone know what the torque specs are for the OEM Top Case mounting plate. Gen II ? I am getting ready to install my spiffy new stiffy kit . Yes... I am torque wrench anal. It's a character flaw. I haven't taken it apart yet. Does it thread into aluminum or steel? I am assuming aluminum so it should be a light torque.

I'd use the German spec gudentight.

If you are planing to use a thread locking compound, I'd back off that just a bit.

:)

So good it bears repeating:

The 10 degrees of tightness:

1) missing

2) hanging

3) loose

4) finger tight

5) pretty tight

6) good-n-tight

7) really tight

8) damn tight

9) f-n tight

10) stripped

It's into aluminum..... I'd just go with rushes specs..........

If you hit SLK50's #10, the old rule applies tighten til it strips then back of 1/4 turn....

Sorry I had to. Actually applicable to me as I am installing the GIVI SR357 and the Shad SH50 later today!
