Saturday 10/10/15, the 1st of 2 RTE's

So this was to be my first of a 2X RTE, I knew what the ending was about, but some stupid little thing in my head wanted me to try this again. Here's my/our story....

Back a Month ago, "Full House" had made a RTE to Denny's Beer Barrel Pub. Once I heard this, a little birdie went off and said "HS!, that's the place where I had tried a burger challenge before!" (I failed however)... then my wheels were turning, saying to my stomach "You can do this, you just need the right mindset and prep!" (well, this time anyways).

*The pre-plan*

I was to meet Mike (Wine Guy) in Ellicottville at the EBC (Ellicottville Brewery Co) for a Sat afternoon cocktail hour on their deck, then have dinner there (this place is totally kick-ass all the way around). I couldn't land any lodging right in town, but I did get a MIcrotel about 15mi south in a town called Olean (NY).

Debbie was to accompany me, seems like ever since I got those darn fugly RDL seats, I have a new found riding pillion partner, slash love of my life. It's all good, she's really fun and at least on a short 1 night overstay, I knew she wouldn't pack the kitchen sink, and she went even lighter than myself! nice.

We arrived in Ellicottville only to find a traffic jam about 4-miles out. I was like "sure hope this is for a football game or something!". It wasn't. I saw signs of "Octoberfest Parking: $10 w free Bus ride into town!". Dang@! We finally weazled our way in, duck walking for more than an hour. DO I need tell? That sucks! EBC frontage....

20151010_162422_zps5n3wbcym.jpg

Our snagged free parking which was about 200ft from EBC. Not bad at all, but now we needed to find Mike and tell him to forget this jam-packed town.

20151010_162657_zpskk5pthdu.jpg

We arrive first in Olean at the Microtel, check-in, and I decide that it's time to start getting in shape. After-all, I needed to start working off some calories (relax, we just wrestled!)... plus Mike was not here yet anyways

Arrival of my buddy!.. and I greet him with a cold beer.

20151010_181403_zpsdq2hgfyi.jpg

So Mike being from Canada eh?, he shuts his phone off when in the States. Hence, our communication breakdown. But, in that crowd^^, no way was he to be found!. I texted him hoping he would turn on his phone that we were going straight for our motel and re-making plans. He did turn on his phone and rec'd the re-plan just fine...

20151010_180111_zpsovpapdj9.jpg

Sun going down on the POS Bimmer, notice the DD's next door, no stink'n Timmy Horton's for us!

20151010_181629_zps5smw7akq.jpg

Since I'm an equal opportunity rider, I show sum love to Michael's beautiful 2013 Feejer... (plus now that I have 4K resolution on my new phone) I thought it would be nice to show some image depth!)... I'm sure photobucket will compress and degrade it some, but it's still purdy!....

20151010_181712_zpsx8ydveec.jpg

SO after drinking several beers for what was a "Motel Happy-hour", we ask the front desk clerk (who basically gave us complete run of the lounge area)... "Where's the best place in town for an upscale pub or eatery?" He quickly whips out about 3 choices, even prints us out directions and reviews! Wow, these gay guys down here are super nice! oh boy
wink.png

20151010_182502_zpsjkxrms5i.jpg

I then tell Debbie to give me your best Andy salute!... she's like "what the heck are you talking about?". She just met Andy and Soozie at EOM 2 weeks prior. She loved the Geeks, probably cuz we are Geeks as well.

20151010_183822_zpsejbejp7r.jpg

After remembering Andy and his antics, she politely gives me the Geek salute...

20151010_183815_zpsmga0onoo.jpg

We chose the "Super Fun Center" to the desk clerk's overall best choice. He said it's a huge venue, has a bowling alley connected as well. I was like huh?" We went with it, he called us a cab and off we went. During our ride, the Cabbie takes us over to a Railroad Yard, where he starts giving us a tour and telling us that the Danzel Washington film "Unstoppable" was filmed here, well at least the beginning and Yard scenes were. Pretty darn cool!, I liked that flick and remembered it clearly.

Olean NY; "Unstoppable" Filming Video clip:

We immediately went towards the noise, but I was thinking "our restaurant of choice is here? wtf!?"...

20151010_195102_zpsswdz5mka.jpg

We did find the restaurant, nice place. And, it's kinda hooked into a mini-mall with an entertainment complex. So, when in Olean, do as the locals do...so we did!

At this point, I've already had 8 beers, but Mike and I go for the bigg'ins anyways. These were wheat ale's with a citrus flavor. I'd say a little more beer tasting than a Blue Moon. Pretty tasty! Debbie just drinks water (aka Mich Ultras).

20151010_200200_zpsqne7ovcb.jpg

I knew I had the BBD (bigger better deal) coming up on Sunday, so I wanted to eat "light!". Yeah right!, I did order a salad, it just was bigger than expected.

20151010_202730_zpsj7csuqvi.jpg

Mike's happy and sporting his EOM '15 attire :)

20151010_202742_zps6edyzzjz.jpg

After dinner, we did a few (I'll just say it was more than 1) shooters, we chose Blackhouse chilled, cuz Debbie will do that shot, so we made it ours as well. Mike then goes into the Alley, orders up a couple of games of roller bawl. We shoe-up with these little beauties...

20151010_211117_zpsldfng25b.jpg

Mike and Debbie setup the gig, man, it's been awhile since I bowled, now you take 3 images of your face in different poses like for a strike, gutter ball etc. Then when you roll one of those it proudly (shamefully) puts this image up for all to see. hmmm...

20151010_211904_zpsy1kpmi9b.jpg

It was Mike, Deb then me. Probably wasn't going to be a real game with me being a close to 200 average bowler in my day, so I shot "beaver balls" or no thumb in the ball shots. I figured this would even the playing field somewhat. Mikey up first....

20151010_212230_zpsjb4zsa9o.jpg

And Debbie has the 'play and pray game'...

20151010_212644_zpsyjzgwp1z.jpg

ME shooting Beaver Balls, lol

20151010_222342_zpsia2iampk.jpg

We rolled 2 games, Wine Guy bought the rounds (bowling & shots). Overall, Mike almost kept up with me, Debbie, well let's just say she did hit 100 both times, but barely ;-) IT WAS A BLAST@! who woulda thought? bowling? crazy-fun times.

We get a taxi back to the Hotel, no tours, it's well past midnight at this time. Upon arriving back at our Microtel, we meet a few late nighters who see that we are having a "loud" fun time. They make friends with us, Mike whips out a 12 pack of Molsons.

Debbie says she can't do anymore, and I saw her eyeballs rolling around in her head. Good nite she says! (garbled). Mike and I carry on with our newly made friends. Holy cow, they were louder than us! So, the girl goes on to tell me that she love's strip clubs and getting lap dances. Her b/f says she just love tits. (his & her wording exactly). I kinda brush it off somewhat thinking Debbie may be still lurking around the corner, plus it wasn't going to look good if she did hear this!... and, it got worse!... next she tells me that she's still lactating and offers to show me! I'm like WFT! We are in the lounge area of the motel, Mike is shit faced, I am as well. Next conversation is about something that I can't remember (go figure) BUT!, it went back to her breasts, and her b/f goes on to tell me about he has them on his Corn Flakes every morning. Mike and I were laughing so hard, they were serious however and were not laughing. Got kinda weird to say the least....

20151011_010253_zps8asa0yjj.jpg

Man, look at my eyebawlz, they look like 2 piss-holes in a snow bank!

20151011_010212_zpss1e6l9uw.jpg

We finished off Mike's 12-pak of fine Canadian beer, called it a night. That couple was even more crazier than myself, that IS scary. 'NS, and I have no idea what time it was, maybe 1ish.

TBC.........................

We had lunch at EBC on Wednesday, on our way to Branchport...saw that "E"ville was having its Fall Festival Saturday & Sunday, so I grabbed (2) four packs of the Pantius Droppus, and avoided the place on our way back home Sunday. They had a "buy one get one free" deal, on the Pantius Droppus four packs.

Looks like you guys had a great time...

SUNDAY 10/11/15 RTE DAY

9AM was our Meet time w Jon (LittleJon). He brought a Harley friend along w him, we find out his name is GoJo, and he is a really cool and down to earth guy. He is a little cold however, temps were in the low 40's in some spots he was mentioning. Coffee at the neighboring DD warmed him and Jon up, then we rode outta Olean, yes we had fog, but I could see the sun almost breaking thru.

20151011_083819_zpsglvj1fqn.jpg

The ride from Olean down through Western PA was gorgeous. I made up a fun ride in BC a week prior, definitely not the way the crow fly's, and, sometimes you get the weather to cooperate "nicely!". The sun beaming through the tunnel-like tree covered roads were definitely eye-porn candy.

20151011_104051_zpsti4kpfyo.jpg

20151011_104114_zps9uze3y1a.jpg

I had a slight hangover, nothing really as I was excited for the ride and the challenge. We did need a couple of pee breaks, notice the fog burning off...

20151011_104059_zpsmloyydjk.jpg

Burn off the fog!...Jon checking out the foliage and color (colour)
wink.png

20151011_104147_zpsfk3y5reh.jpg

I knew we had a Noon appointment at the RTE loca, my group wanted some stops, I kept them limited. Mike being Mr. Photographer...

20151011_104211_zps4otaxwps.jpg

The color was almost at it's height. So just another excuse to get out one more time to leaf peep!

20151011_104328_zps3lakgbsz.jpg

Here we are "on" the Triple Nickle, PA's 555. There was no traffic, we owned the road and one reason why I love PA vs. all the other great places... cuz everyone knows about those other great places! (keep this one a secret, and only the Penn Run peeps will know about this hidden gem).

20151011_104451_zpstlyzpg7h.jpg

My group pulls in right at 11:55am and meet Julie (fjrfarrier) in the parking lot. Robert (SLK50) and his son Alec walk over to welcome us as well. Come to find out, Robert showed up at 11:30! dang! lol. (he's semi-local).

20151011_115953_zpsl8hoc2li.jpg

I was here many of years ago, place still looked the same....

Alec, Robert, Julie, Jon, KJ, Mike, GoJo (Imagery by Deb)

20151011_120337_zpswvifglul.jpg

This time..... I had a game plan and a mindset to kick some ass burger. We get checked in, hostess tells us it's about 30min wait, give us a little LED flying saucer for our cattle call, out the door we go to enjoy the sunshine!

20151011_120500_zps0fmbnhpl.jpg

Here is where I plan to have my name engraved, well, that was the plan anyways!

20151011_120653_zpsenvfyetm.jpg

Once our group is all seated, I start to focus. Everyone else is gazing at the bountiful menu and order apps. I pass on all, my drink order is a bottle of water. During the app course, I was offered wonderful looking chicken wings, onion rings, some kind of deep fried pedals.... nope! nut-ting for KJ! (game face). Debbie orders a wrap of some sorts, I actually don't even wanna look at it.

20151011_134055_zpseearmvuo.jpg

Upon main meal ordering, Jon (LittleJon) who was sitting semi-across from me spews out "I'm taking the challenge too!". It helped when the waitress told me I could omit one item (and only 1) from all the accompanied condiments. Jon hates tomatoes, once he found out he could nix them.... IN! (btw, I nixed the banana peppers, thinking the less acidity, the better for my later digestion. cough-cough.

Jon and I filled out our required paper-work. Signed away any rights to sue the establishments for any occurrence that could happen. hmmmm.?

Here our waitress lays it out.... "YOU ARE SERVED, KJ!"

20151011_134245_zpstypl3v1b.jpg

And Jon gets served his death notice as well...

20151011_134303_zpslyedrj3v.jpg

The waitress doesn't start the clock until you've had the obligatory photo ops...

20151011_134251_zpsxn6vwuca.jpg

20151011_134316_zps7z93q4dq.jpg

One thing of note; upon the waitress bringing both of our burger challenges out (she warned us prior that this was 'the trip'), don't ya know a couple of Asian tourists pop up like out of the blue, stop our waitress dead in her tracks (coming to us) and make her (wait & stop) to get pictures with them. So pushy, I guess this resentment comes a little bit from my out West trip as the Asians were so friggen pushy out there a well. Def not a good reputation to have, but, oh well, let's continue..... here, Julie (fjrfarrier) is just saying how happy she was she didn't get "lured" into a challenge. Good move Julie!

20151011_134331_zps9tbfu5ss.jpg

Jon, well he had a strategy that was much different than mine. He decided to dissect the burger, make a small one out of it and go at it that way. BTW, you cannot use any utensils whatsoever when doing this challenge. This without much more wording... makes for a messy ordeal. This was our waitress. AWESOME! so peppy and she bled encouragement all the way around........ (Alec getting some face time, he's such a great kid, welcome anytime with me that's for sure!)... love respectable kids!

20151011_134338_zpszrroro3g.jpg

So, Game on!

20151011_134350_zpsyor5gzqx.jpg

I was about 1/2 way through, Jon was maybe 1/3 of the way and I hear "I can't do it anymore!" I was like what?, Everyone else gave him encouragement as well. After gazing down at the carnage to be had yet, he said "nope, I'm sorry, I just can't go on"... so he left for the restroom to clean-up. He proudly came back with a Tshirt, although his was a failure shirt, and he had to pay for his. I was like "nope, I just can't fail, I must keep chewing... and chewing... and chewing. My jaw was getting sore, and numb!

20151011_135550_zpsktrskcov.jpg

Out of respect to our viewers, I'm not going to post anymore images. They were flat out gross, and even writing this several hours later... those pics make me wanna gag and hurl. Serious.

A little bit about my challenge; Mike the Wine Guy was so kind as to put a timer on his iPhone for our challenge, the house has it timed of course as well, but having Coach Mike there with his encouragement was a 'huge' help. (not a fan of that word when used with food anymore, just so you know!).

What was NOT a help was Robert (SLK50), he kept telling me food stories, and how they were going to stop at this Ice Cream shop afterwards and how good their huge Sundaes are etc. I think he rubbed in the Ice Cream hints about 10 times. Yep, he must of wanted me to hurl. GoJo who sat directly across from me, took notice on a couple of close calls... he fled! I had no cross table partner anymore!, runway was now clear for a landing.

After finishing, I had the entire restaurant giving me some love. (so yes, I was successful) The clapping and noise however was blurry, I just had to get to the bathroom and wash up, I felt like a pig, looked like one as well. Probably 'Nuff said. I think when all the dust food settles, I will lok back at this and laugh, right now I'm still too full to even frown. Thirsty for water as well. I had to stop twice on the way home, no bathroom, just ice water!... Now, some of the deghydration could of come from all the drinking the night beofre, could of been a lot of sodium in the burger, but I also know you need water to digest. So water is what I had and thankfully everything worked out in the 'end'. Sorry for LittleJon, we'll have to get him to wear his shirt along with mine the next time we go there. Speaking of which, yep... game on for next fall, we are going back to Denny's BBP!. Personally, I'm challenged out, but I hope we get some more contestants to step up to the plate. (no pun intended).
smile.png

Now for my Man vs. Burger closing statements.

Would I do it again?

Hell No!

How did you feel after accomplishing this great Food-Porn milestone?

Crap! ...literally, physically and mentally.

How was the almost 300 mile ride back afterwards?

Oh man, I had to focus, my mind wanted my body on a comfy couch so bad. I'm not into the LD punishment goals, I like to ride for fun. This was not. I'll call it my "Bun-Burner 2000".

I would like to Thank everyone who stood by me (except Robert) lol, you guys were so friggen supportive!!. To sit there for an hour and watch this devouring idiot, well, it could not of been a pretty site by any means. You guys had such great support, I can't count the number of times I heard "C'mon KJ, you got this!". Awesome, and, without this encouragement?, I would of truly thrown in the towel. I also need to thank my Ms Debbie, she was my towel girl, great to have her in my corner!. So, Thank You kindly to everyone, my apologies go out to all the restaurant patrons who wanted to shake my hands afterwards, and, I had to refuse (my hands were nasty!). Man, it was something I will remember forever!

-KJ

I think I am going to stop reading your RRs. Your life looks so much more fun than mine.

A beautiful bike, a beautiful girlfriend, beautiful scenery, beautiful food, crazy girls that like lap dances and lots of good beer... All I do is work. Then I come home to my large and angry wife. I am insanely jealous down here in the swamp. It almost looks like it is not summer anymore but there are no leaves to peep at. They are still green and hanging on the trees.

Honestly, Very Good Stuff. I enjoyed it, enjoyed your triumph over the Big Burger, and I enjoyed the thought of you being able to ride all the way back home afterwards.

How much does that thing cost if you fail?

Well done sir! Wish Mona and I could have made it. Hopefully next time.Say hello to Debbie for the 2 of us!

Great job and RR! I would have shaken their hands anyway if they were stupid enough to want to knowing your condition! My stomach hurts just thinking about it. I can only imagine the ride home!

The burger was $20 and change if you didn't finish it. Half price if you you did. I happily paid the full price.

Well, maybe not exactly happily. I got half the thing down, and even that was way too much.

Another great ride report KJ!
smile.png

That burger looked brutal, don't think I could pull that off. My stomach hurts just looking at the pictures.

Looks like a lot of fun was had by all. Including the lactating couple, looking for some tits. LOL.

And we want GoJo on our next ride!. :) That dude is kewl and alright in my books!

So to color in on my bill. They cut the burger to $10 even, not odd cents. I got a signed certificate worthy of framing (lol), and a Free accomplishment T-Shirt. Then, In my email was a nice congrats, along with the future engraving date for the wall of fame plaque.

Looking forward to next Falls RTE there. I'm officially exempt now, but I'll cheer on whoever wants to man-up to the plate! ;) maybe we step up the challenge, they have 5 different burger challenges btw.....

Great Ride Report and Photographs KJ, Thank You! I also appreciated the private "Milky Tits" photos you emailed me, I appreciate 'organic'! JSNS, Mammies!

Great ride report KJ! and congrats on the burger challenge! It sure was entertaining to watch you consume that mighty burger....

Great ride report KJ! and congrats on the burger challenge! It sure was entertaining to watch you consume that mighty burger....
It was great to have you with us, Julie. You are such the mileage monger, it's tough to get you to shut the ignition off! and... don't rule out Lake George RTL venture quite yet, remember you can nix off Vermont (from your list) quite easily from LG via Crown Point, which is less than a 1/2 hr, then, once you cross Lake Champlain, you're in VT!.... you may wanna stay however

Great ride report KJ. That was one hell of a burger. Hey Jon, even though you only finished half of the challenge, you were still the smarter one of the two of you. KJ will be healing up internally for a few days. Looks like you guys had a blast!
