This fellow looks completely sane. Here he is working on one of his restored BMW's on a Vashion Is. TT ride.

We use to call him Jimmy Two Burgers. Then, after a little problems with his heart, we started calling him Jimmy Three Stints. Now, 30 pounds later and lighter, we call him Slim Jim.

On Jun 17th, Slim Jim is leaving Banff to take a little ride on mountain pedal bike. To Mexico by himself. Sane, I'm not so sure now. Jim is hoping to be done before August 1st.

I don't think he will be doing pictures or comments on this forum but I think it would be fun to watch the spot and also be there if things go wrong somewhere along the way.

Here is his spot info:

Password is: Findjim

It sends his location to a satellite every ½ hour or so and then gets recorded onto their website.

Also, here is the course Jim plotted: Except for a few detours, Jim's basically following the 2016 Tour divide course…

Here's Another good description..

See Jim ride, ride Jim ride,,,

Wow. I mock bicyclists on long trips most of the time, but I like Jim. What is one to do? Impressed none the less and will be watching.

I used to fancy doing the CD on motorcycle. That notion was removed from my bucket list without completing the ride. Hey it is my bucket list and I can do with it as I please.

I always thought of doing this ride from South to North in September. I figured it would take 10 to 14 days two weeks cause I am slow. That Jimmy wants to do this on 1 month is very impressive. Wishing him well.

Jim made it to Banff last night. It is snowing!
He has a two night stay at the lodge and will start the Great Divide on Friday morning June 17th!
Hope he is enjoying a nice bed and a hot meal as those will be few and far between over the next six weeks!

Jim progress will be a little slower for a few days.

Jim just made it to Hwy 12 west of Helena, Mt.
Follow Jim's spot doesn't make me want to spend more time on my mountain bike but it does make me want to buy a Tenere ES right now.
You skinny guys and your ES, I'll be forever regulated to a standard I'm afraid.

Jim covered 3 continental divide passes today. Priest Pass was the best but also the most work.

He's living large tonight, not steaks like the Red Lodge folks but good.
