My wife, Sandy, and I took off on a trip to see family and new friends. We left home on 5/27, a cold blustery day with driving rain (Pikes Peak got a foot of snow overnight), and returned home on 6/21 - 90F+. The ride took us from Monument, CO through KS, NE, IA, WI, MI, ON, to Jamestown, NY and back again. It included 2 ferry rides - SS Badger across Lake Michigan, and MS Chi-Cheemaun from the tip of the Bruce Peninsula at Tobermory, ON to Manitoulin Island, ON.

In the 3-1/2 weeks we were gone, we visited: our daughter and son-in-law for a week; my son, his girlfriend, and hopefully his future in-laws for 3 days, and Sandy's sister and brother-in-law for a week; and I was able to meet up with some fine people at the WNY Tech Day III.

Our typical travel day was only around 300 miles - we're old and we're soft. But we managed to keep Interstate Highway travel to less than 100 miles on our 4100 miles. Here are some pics to document the trip.

Looks like a lot of fun.I'm going to be heading West in a few weeks. Thanks for reminding me of the Badger,I'll see if I can work that into my route.

Good man yourself John! You definitely broke the WNY tech day mileage record! Great to see you made it home safe and sound.

Typically, folks post signs like this because those things have occurred and they do not wish a repeat...but WOODCHUCKS?!?

Bob, it was great meeting you at the tech day! Thanks for including WNY on your journey, and perhaps we can entice you back again next year.

Great to meet you and share a part of your trip.

I'm a sucker for a good bloody mary. Were those anywhere in NY?

And yeah. Woodchucks? I thought EVERYBODY knew they went in the garbage disposal, not down the toilet...

Well done, Bob!!!! Agree with TS - that picture on the deck overlooking the river is SO inviting.

I look forward to the day when I can take off for a month. Won't be too long now. Thanks for the day dream.

Thanks, it was my pleasure meeting you too. Not NY, Bloody Mary's were in Eagle River, WI at a place called the Honey Bear. They are a Saturday morning special.

My thoughts too on the Woodchucks, there must be some really backwards people in Ashville
