Disconnected Wire?

I was installing a Flash2Pass garage door opener on my 2006 FJR. After removing the right side dash cover (below trip computer) I found a wire with eyelet zipped to fairing spar. Not connected to anything. Can anyone tell me what its for or should I even care??

Important clarification. Wouldn't want someone putting it under their tongue, or worse.....

Found the same on my 2010 fjr, but it was when tracing a ground fault two months ago, figured after 6 years that it hadn't caused any problems, so didn't matter. Couldn't be bothered tracing the wiring, but if you find out what it is, would be interested to know. First thoughts were that it might be related to ground spider S8, was that a Yamaha fix?

OK, there you go, should have read the preceding posts, it's the temperature gauge. Next time I'm in there, will confirm, just to satisfy my curiousity.
