Started the day going to the VA vampire for a blood test. From there we met with a couple friends for a ride. One on a new 690 KTM and one on a Hardley. The Hardley started with issues cause the heated grips had a mind of their own and the the control wouldn't turn off . It got hot to the point that the throttle stuck so the owner pulled the fuse to solve the problem. We headed out for the Crooked River road. Those that know the area will know how much fun that is. From Prineville we took 26 east to Mitchell ( more fun) and turned north to Service Creek ( more better fun) . Got to Fossil for lunch and found out pulling the fuse on the Hardley also killed the brake lights and turn signals. Very poor engineering so the fuse went back in.
While at lunch the owner of the brand new KTM said he started the day with a six speed but got to lunch with a five speed. No clue but he isn't happy.
Got gas and headed for Antelope ( great fun) and had to stop for the Hardley owner to pull the fuse again cause the throttle was binding in the twisty bits and he about shit himself. The pissed off KTM owner headed for the dealer for a talk. Made it to Antelope and rode the 8 miles to Shaniko and back. The twistyest 8 miles in Oregon. Rode home on 97 (boring). When we got home I patted the Wing on the butt and thanked it for a great day. Fed the critters and sat on my ass to call the KTM guy. The dealer basicly told him to take a number and get in line. End of story.
