top box broken yamaha no help

I bought a used 2006 fjr with the yamaha top box installed. While riding one day the box fell off it landed on the botton and broke it up badly. I am sure the box was secured properly my local dealer has talked to yamaha and they refuse to do anything about it. Problem is being referred to yamaha accessory division

Question. Has anyone had the bottom part ot the box break up for no apparent reason when it breaks it allows the latch that secures it to become unlatched from the mount

Nope - never had mine come off.

I've got an OEM '03 model, but none of 'em are cheap!!!
