700 miles since my last oil change oil light came on and had to add half a quart . this is not good . any ideas ? i use full sny.

ideas...???.....maybe there wasn't enough oil in it after the last change. That is the oil level warning, right? Several instances reported of oil level warning lights coming on when the oil level is a little low even though it looks OK thru the sight glass. Put some oil in it and see how long/many miles it takes before the light comes back on. If it ever does.

Had been a known problem for ALL yamaha's for years. If you are on a low side of good it lights up.
