2 days ago I popped the windsheild fuse while riding. Not obvious reason.

Replaced the fuse and all was well.

This morning, I lost spark to plug #4.

I need to find the ignition coil to check it.

Worst part of a full fairing bike......with the tank up and T bar out, all I see is ignition lines going forward. I am thinking maybe they are on the fairing tree?

That would suck. I know that is serious disassembly work.

Anybody know where it is?

They run directly to the coils, mounted on the aluminum frame to the rear of the battery. Remove the right rear upper fairing and you'll see them. Piece of cake with the tank up. It's not the coil though-most likely a bad plug, or the wire has pulled out of the cap, the part that goes onto the plug. They are separate pieces, with the cap being the resistor. The coils each run 2 cylinders, you lose one due to a bad coil, you lose them both.

TRACKED THAT LITTLE BASTARD DOWN AND KILLED IT!!

The wire clip lead which gave power to the ignition coil was broken.

Perhaps cracked a long time ago in a lay down, and finally vibration fatiqued itself in half.

$2 for a $0.02 AMP clip at Radio Shack and all is good.

Coil was outside bottom of the battery bracket. Lower right panel gave easy access

I get to do the Indiana ride tomorrow. :yahoo:
