Got the Ram-Bone on Monday,,,thanks!
One of the allen heads was stripped, never touched prior.
Took me awhile to get it removed without scratching my tank.
Now waiting on a new bolt...just my luck,

Take the bolts to the hardware store and get yourself some that won't round out like the stock ones do.
Common problem with those bolts. No need for them to be allen head. 1st gens have 10mm hex head shoulder bolts and they don't strip out.

I like the fact that this is mounted to the frame and not the handlebars.Whatever you attach to the ram ball it will stay stationary. That's my preference at least.So if you prefer the fixed position or just want to add a new farkle and couldn't figure out where to attach it, this will give you another option.The material is aluminum 6061-T6. The base is ¾ square stock and the rod is ¾ dia round bar and comes complete with 1" ramball. They base and round rod are press fit together and attached with a Stainless steel flat head screw and lock tighted. It is approximately 5" long from the base to the center of the ball.

If you can tell me exactly what RAM cradle I need to fit my Garmin nuvi 265WT that will match up to your 1" ball on this thing, I'll buy one.

You'd want to buy this to mount your nuvi 265W. You would not end up using the flat mount ball at the bottom, but you would get all the other pieces you need to mount your GPS (cradle, ball and short arm).
PS - you might be able to find the cradle and arm separately for less $$
PPS - Since I'm thinking of dong the same thing on a 2nd bike for a nuvi I own, here are the piece parts you need:
RAM-HOL-GA25U - RAM Mount Garmin nuvi 200W 465T Cradle - $7.91
RAP-B-238 - RAM Mount Diamond Plate with 1 inch Ball - $4.67
RAM-B-201U - RAM Mount Medium Arm B-Socket - $11.95
Total of $24.53, so you only save about 50 cents and don't get the extra piece.

I read the whole thread before i posted, so forgive me if you've answered this: Are you able to make the Rambone with the smaller ball size that fits the Nuvi mounts?

I have done one as a special request for a forum member. I will be doing another production run soon and if you would like I can accommodate you at that point. The forum member provided the ball at that time. When I place another order for Ram Balls I can look into purchasing a couple of the smaller balls. Can you confirm the size for me? If I recall it was around 3/4 of an inch. I would rather not do a one off because it is more time consuming doing all the setups for one pc.

I wasn't aware that there was a RAM that fit the 200W, thanks Fred. So given that, there's not much point in your making up a special item for me. When I get some funds, I'll try to get back to you for your regular Bone.

what does the mounting plate look like for your WynPro RAM Arm (adjustable range motorcycle mount -like that?). How do I attatch the gps to it?

These are made for a Zumo 660. I am pretty sure the hole pattern is the same for the Zumo 550 just turned 90 degrees. I can make any size plate you want with whatever hole pattern or slots.
