Camp Sky-Y camping information from AZ Beemers Club President Brian Boles.

The 2012 Roadrunner Rally will be held near Prescott, AZ at YMCA Camp Sky-Y.

Sky-Y is adjacent to the Senator Highway, just before the pavement turns to dirt.

The camp is just over 7 miles from downtown Prescott. It took me 14 minutes to travel from the camp to downtown, doing the speed limits. For those unfamiliar with Senator Hwy, it is a south turnoff of AZ-69 just east of downtown on to Mt. Vernon St.

The area is over 6500' and in the tall ponderosa pines.

Here's a map of the camp facilities.

Here's a pano shot looking out from the office building. The cafeteria is the large building to the right. The camp villages are right and left of that central open area.

As you can see on the map, there are 4 camp villages. Each village has bunkhouses and a bathhouse.

This shot is looking down the central area.

Here's a shot around the bunkhouses in one of the villages.

Most of the bunkhouse villages have a campfire pit and gathering area. The walking areas around the bunkhouses are mostly dirt with wood chips thrown on for erosion abatement.

Here's a look inside of a bunkhouse. Pictures taken during a kids camp, messy.

Here is a typical bath house. Each tends to have several shower stalls and a couple of heads. They looked clean and well maintained.

Here is Holmes Hall, the meeting hall. It is wired for sound and has a band stage. It can support about 200 people. This would be the setup area for the vendors also.

This is the health center building near the office.

At the northeast end of the camp, is a flat area on top of a hill that can support quite a few tent camping areas. The Sky-Y camping area is natural forest cover.

This is the main parking lot area. The paved road is in the gap in the trees on the left. There's plenty of room to stage runs and demo rides from this area.

This is the ampitheatre and the pool. The pool will be available for our use at the camp.

So, that's the $0.50 tour. Hope to see you there !!

We've also negotiated many discount hotel rooms in downtown Prescott, in case you're a Girlie-Man like our Englishman Richard Fairlaner and you don't camp out!

Best Western Prescottonian, 1317 East Gurley Street, Prescott, AZ 86301-3313 Phone: 928/445-3096 Fax: 928/778-2976 https://book.bestwestern.com/bestwestern/US/AZ/Prescott-hotels/BEST-WESTERN-Prescottonian/Hotel-Overview.do?propertyCode=03061&disablenav=false

For Your Information: Our negotiated rate, for one room with two beds for two people non-smoking and downstairs, is $94.99 a night; tax is $11.73 nightly.

Total of $106.72 times two: $213.44 with taxes included. Great rate and place, really looking forward to Roadrunner Rally 2012 and the wet T-shirt contests!

Here's a picture of our SkooterG before last year's wet T-shirt contest! I can't post up the "before" picture of Enrique from last year, it was much too risque!

https://www.azycamps.org/ Here's the Official Website of Camp Sky-Y here in Arizona. This'll be our first year at this location and it looks to be an incredibly scenic location for a motorcycle Rally.

I will see you in Prescott at the AZ Beemers Roadrunner Rally on Friday, May 18!

Here is an added incentive to attend the Arizona AZ Beemers Motorcycle Rally held May 18-20 of 2012. Your paid registration to our Roadrunner Rally also give you a free day pass to Overland Expo.

https://www.OverlandExpo.com Please Note: Overland Expo is not for Street Pussies like dcarver and WheatonFJR, it is for True Adventure Riders like Tucson Joe and Papa Chuy Viejo!

Haven’t signed up for the Road Runner Rally yet? Don’t miss the best bike weekend in Arizona ! We have a lot of great events planned like –

BMWMOA Smart Trainer – hone your skills !

Prescott Whiskey Row Pub Crawl with van transportation to/from camp

Saturday night classic rock band, The Sheldonz

Saturday night belly dancing

Lots of vendors and door prizes

Great riding

Good friends and good times.

We’ll be at Sky-Y camp just south of Prescott. Come on out for the whole weekend or stop by Saturday.

Beat the heat and spend a weekend in the cool pines. Hope to see you there.

Concerned about the Gladiator Fire? It’s about 19 miles SSE of our camp area. It has forced the cancellation of one of our dual sport rides and may send some smoke over the area, but that’s all. It shouldn’t cause us any other problems.

Here’s a link to a website with info on the fire.

Well I went to the rally, didn't see any other FJR's there. The weather was great, roads were great, campground sucked if you don't like riding/parking in the (soft)dirt. And, for the fee the food wasn't all that great nor were the vendors. Meeting up with friends made it worth while though.
