I'll probably do the same for my '07 before I sell it. The Gen III shock is reputed to be better (and a lot cheaper) than the Gen II. For some reason, the '16 is cheaper than the '13.
However, if someone made me a deal on a lightly used one (after chazglenn3 gets his since this is his thread), I would go for that instead.
