17th annual Ride to the Rock!!!! Saturday 11/24/2018

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls:
I am putting on the schedule the 17th annual 'Ride to the Rock'. The ride leaves from my humble abode in Lincoln RI at 9am and travels the backroads of southeastern MA to Plymouth MA to visit 'the Rock' in honor of our forefathers and Thanksgiving. The ride is held the Saturday after Thanksgiving each year (rain/snow date Sunday 11/25). The ride will go on regardless of how cold it is or how many attend-we have had as many as 29 bikes and as few as 3. We couldn't care less what you ride but we do require the noisy HDs to ride in the rear. Leave a PM here if you would like more info and directions to my house. DRESS WARM!! Coffee and donuts will be served before the ride at 7:30. KSU at 9am.

**NOTE**

The Mayflower II has been gone for awhile getting a face lift for the 400 year anniversary in 2020!!

A couple of years ago we added the National Monument to our Forefathers to our route, which we found be accident while pre-riding the route. It is a 150 foot tall granite statue which has to be seen to be believed.

Box of Vstrom handguards just arrived yesterday. Just in time for the (forgot how long) ride from South Portland, Maine.

As always, it's on the calendar. Too soon to say. Not even sure what our Thanksgiving will be. Moved the MIL into an assisted living facility in NC last weekend. We may be down there for the weekend.

That should help out Dan. You wont even need gloves!

Couldn't find a group shot (maybe 'cause someone took the damn boat?!) but got some others including plenty of the monument. So far Saturday this year looks good. Always enjoy my day with you guys.

Thanks. I did the pre-ride today and stopped at the monument. Still impressive! I have a few changes to make to get around some washboard roads

I need another ride-I have to reroute some of the roads. Perhaps next week.

I remember going on the Mayflower II in New York harbor as a kid in 1957 when it first came to this country.

Doing another pre-ride with some route changes on Sunday morning (10/14) with a small group of fjrs. Anyone interested drop me a pm and come along!
