Many of the Arizona FJR Southwest Forum know Jo Smee - azgsgirl. She rides with the FJR crowd quite a bit: To Joe's Barbecue, Payson and up The Devil's Highway.
Jo is also a published author in a number of motorcycle and general interest magazines. This is a recent article she wrote for the Phoenix Examiner daily newspaper.

You're indeed correct Crash Cash! So, I copied Jo's Rain poem here. azgsgirl is also a very accomplished Arizona poet, always weaving motorcycles into her poetry!
"In the Phoenix area, it's so unusual, it's a celebration.
Riding in the Rain
Clouds hang
drift, float, swirl
across the unchanging face
of the mountains.
I smell the wet desert
mesquite, creosote,
crushed granite.
Rain lashes across my helmet visor,
my motorbikes tires
sing with joy
through the water
on the road.
Inside my gear
I am warm and dry,
my legs snug against the sides of the bike.
I think about the drivers in their cars,
probably feeling sorry for me.
Under my helmet, I smile knowingly
at their loss."
