We have friends who live in Pahrump, Nevada and we recently went there for a 5 day visit. I knew two places that I wanted to see for certain. I read about Dirty Laundry, a laundromat owned by Heidi Fleiss, which was a bonus on the 2009 IBR, and knew I wanted to see it. I know many here got to participate in the 09 IBR and I hope you enjoy seeing a bonus which you may not have had time to visit.
In addition, one of the bonuses on the 2009 Nevada 1099 was another place in Pahrump called "Coffinwood":

When I saw it on the bonus sheet, I knew I would visit it. However, it was not worth enough points and did not fit into my route, so I saved it for later. Another advantage of going to these sights off the clock is that you have more time for a leisurely visit and sightseeing.

Next, on to Coffinwood. I called in advance to schedule a time to visit. I had mentioned that I was a participant in the Nevada 1099 rally. We were given an incomplete version of the rally pack a week before the event so that we could do research in advance. They said they received many calls from Nevada 1099 riders. Many of the callers did not tell the truth about why they were calling, and in return, they said they gave those people incorrect directions. Only one person told the truth about the rally and why they were calling. I immediately knew who that was based on a prior conversation. I said that would have been Tom Sperry, who had told me about his call. She said that is correct, she remembered writing his name down. In return, she gave him the proper directions.

Now Dusty, Bryan's wife, has recently developed a heart condition which was preventing them from participating in one of their favorite pastimes, which was visiting caves. So Bryan decided to build her a representation to enjoy instead:
A sculpture inspired by the Berlin-Ichthyosaur State Park:
There is a bit of a rivalry between Coffins, which are six-sided and basically obsolete here in the US and Caskets, which have 4 sides and dominate the market here. Bryan has one Casket on his property and here is what he uses it for:
Bryan's workshop, where all the magic happens. He has sections dedicated to Woodworking, Painting, Automobile-Metal, and Stonework:
As you walk into their house, they are very proud to have their own Wal-mart greeter:

Bryan plans to build a custom Coffin-shaped residence on property they own next door. He has built a model of the future residence:
And that concluded our visit. We had a great time seeing these bonus locations and I would encourage you to visit places from rallies even after the rally is over for some great fun and entertainment.
