Rock Lobster

or is that Hopewell Rocks & Lobster

It just wouldn't be a CFR without the obligatory visit to Tim Horton's. FJRGuy (Jeff) was riding riding a rented AE. Oh the shame of it all...

Everyone was up bright and early for the 08:00 Atlantic Time sidestands up...

DSC0004-L.jpg

Two hours into the ride we got our first view of the Bay of Fundy near the exit at Fundy National Park...

MEM was leading the last group to arrive at the lookout...

DSC0010-L.jpg

We arrived in the port of Almos in time for Sticky Buns, coffee & low tide...

The road into Cape Enrage was highly entertaining. At the end of the road was a lighthouse and these two Canadian Critters obviously up to no good...

DSC0026-L.jpg

More of the group arrived but parking was becoming an issue...

DSC0027-L.jpg

Unfortunately one of MEM's friends who was one of the group leaders had his BMW roll off its sidestand and tip over. There were no sliders on it and the plastic got scuffed up a bit.

This guy kept following us around but we made him ride at the back with his silly Darkside tire...

Rob is a giant among men. He was going to squish the top of this lighthouse...

DSC0029-L.jpg

From the Cape we rode over to Hopewell Rocks before the tide came back in...

DSC0030-L.jpg

It was time to go for a walk on the ocean floor...

Here are some of the ruffians attending this year's CFR...

DSC0073-L.jpg

It was getting late and we had not stopped for lunch yet. We rode out of the park and went over to the local restaurant where everyone had the fish & chips special. I though the batter on the fish was nicely done myself and it was off to Moncton and then some back roads back to Freddy Beach. We made one last stop at the Mactaquac Dam for a photo op before leading back to the Silverwood...

Here was the ride we took today according to SPOT the Wonder Tracking Dog...

When we got back it was time to heard the cats for the customary Group Photo...

Really excellent, 'fitter!

(Why ain't it rainin'?

)
Yup, good job. It's raining here right now, calling for it till Sunday, and it's heading east. I'm guessing everybody will witness the dank, at least to some extent. Ride safe, and have a blast!

Ok ....make up you're own story here...

"Guess they weren't kidding about running a car tire being a bad idea, eh?"

Or...

"You doofus! I TOLD you this wasn't a good place to park!"

Or...

"I sure hope this guy knows where Tim Hortons is."

Or...

"They guys are gonna be soooo jealous of me. I'm gonna get some awesome gas mileage on this tank!"

CFR Superstar

After Geezer had his own brand name carbonated prune juice he perked right up and became the superstar of CFR...

Ok kid's it's Scott's bike and he blew a tire on 107. Some nifty stopping manuvers saved the day.

CFR - Day 3, the Ferry Run

Not the kind of fairies you find in California

Here we are on the first ferry of the day crossing over the St John River...

DSC0005-L.jpg

DSC0007-L.jpg

We got down the river to the second crossing point but the ferry was down for repairs so we went into the inn for a coffee break and plan a little bit of re-routing...

DSC0009-L.jpg

At the first gas stop, Geezer pointed out some advertising for his special regenerative, carbonated prune juice concoction...

DSC0012-L.jpg

Ian should have pulled up his pants earlier and we might have made the ferry...

DSC0017-L.jpg

Here we are getting left behind...

DSC0019-L.jpg

A boatload of turtles...

DSC0020-L.jpg

Waiting for the next ferry gave me time to take a few photos of the St. John River shoreline...

DSC0028-L.jpg

Mem & some of the folk waiting on the next ferry...

DSC0029-L.jpg

All loaded up and heading across...

DSC0032-L.jpg

St Martin`s was the lunch stop and there was a great photo op at the covered bridges. Here is our Rally Mistress leading the way...

DSC0049-L.jpg

Charlie, as most improved turtle for the rally was right in tow...

DSC0117-L.jpg

Once again the tide was out and the fishermen were waiting on the tide...

DSC0191-L.jpg

This poor little R6 looks lost in a sea of FJR`s...

The most serious dude at the CFR...

The last ferry before heading back to the wrap-up dinner...

That ends my report on the 2011 CFR. I got to pack now for the Apres Ride on the CAbot Trail and will start a new tread from Baddeck, Cape Breton Island.

Hope you enjoyed this little meander around New Brunswick. It was a great rally and the adventure is not over.
