I am wondering if there is any interest in a Dallas area Tech Day? I have lots to learn. I'm willing to host, but I'm not very centrally located (Caddo Mills is NE of Dallas on I-30). I was thinking about maybe October 1 or 15? Any thoughts?

This is going to sound crazy but I don't even own an FJR and I would be interested. If for no other reason it would provide and opportunity to see what working on them is like before I pull the trigger on one. It would also help me in selecting that just right used cream puff I will be looking for someday. Not that it matters but October is out for me - kids in Marching band and that is contest month. Once October hits I won't have a free weekend until Niovember 12.

Bounce got a point there................I'm just sayin'. :clapping:

Father's virago is out of the house with a new starter diode. Not sure if that was the fix as I don't ride it every day. It's got to be hot hot hot before you try a restart and I just had it at hot when I did the restart. Any way, it's gone and now I have to replace my front tire on the feej which is going to slow down my work on the harley. The motor is installed in the harley and next is to start running the wiring harness. It'll be a few months before I even get to turn the motor over on that peice of crap.

I'd be up for a tech day. Just bought my FJR and will be happy to help out in exchange for learning about the mechanics of the bike.

I'm in Cedar hill, and can volunteer my garage or driveway if it's more central to everybody.

Welcome to the dfw club, rick. We don't have a lot of get-to-gethers here in the area. Shame on us. Most of us probably have a job or hobby or something. Would be nice if once a month we could have some kind of......"clean yer skoot" day or sumpin. I'm getting sappy now, aren't I? Must be the vodka shots and cold beer. Never mind me. :dribble:

OK, let's get a date on the calendar for anyone interested. I'll have my garage open on Saturday, March 3rd for a tech/meet/greet.

I'm just north of Caddo Mills, just west of Greenville on the east side of the MetroMess, easily accessible via either I-30 or 380. I have a lift and a tire changer and most tools we'd need. I'll makemsure wemhave donuts and coffee for earlybirds and put weenies on the grill at lunch. Bring food/beer/whatever or just come on out.

BTW, I have a small (handgun only) shooting range out in the pasture, so if you'd like to come out and shot a bit that would be OK too...

Let's make this happen!

I would be interested if you don't mind me inviting myself. I can leave Houston early AM and be back later that night. Have an early morning bicycle rally to escort Sunday AM.

3-3 sounds good to me. I am a new feej owner in S. Rockwall county and too close not to come for a while and at least meet some other feej owners. My new windshield should be in by then.
