1) The AZ Beemers "Boar Hogs" now have their flights fully confirmed: They touch down on at Munich Airport at 8:20pm on Sunday night 8/5 - British Airways Flight #956 and they fly out on Wednesday 8/15 at 7:20am aboard British Airways Flight #947.
2) As soon as Los Canuckistanis post up their flight information I will bring it to this thread location, that also goes for El Kalifornicator SacramentoMike. You folks may be able to coordinate full taxi rides rather than taking the S-Bahn train to connect.
3) Uri Schumm and Don Stanley are on totally different flights from the rest of the Alps Extreme Group. If anyone wanted to tour Berlin with me, give me a shout out and I will post up my flight information. Express train on Sunday, 8/5; Berlin to Munich.
4) Yours Truly, Papa Chuy Viejo, will lead the Alps Extreme Group on a Munich Tour on Monday, 8/6; culminating with a Riders Dinner at Der Hofbrauhaus. We will not depart on this until 10:30am, so everyone can sleep off their jet lag and flight hangover.
5) We will set out early on Tuesday, 8/7 for The Holiest Shrine of Motorcycling: The BMW Motorrad Museum. Since a number of our AZ Beemers also own Bimmers, BMW Automobiles, we will also be touring the Munich BMW Car Assembly Plant also.
http://www.viator.co...h/d487-2666AUGS Since there is the very weird chance that the non BMW Owners (Sick-Silly-Sorry Bastards!) may not want to Worship at the Shrine of all that is Motorcycling Holy, I will arrange an alternate day for you Infidels. Here is one suggestion: A less than $46 day tour of Augsburg, the Ancient Roman Royal Post City. I lived in this gorgeous town for two years and I still believe it to be one of the nicest Burgs in all of Deutschland.

I am confused but our metric calendar shows Sunday as August 5th in 2012. I am just wondering if the AZ Beemer crowd is showing up on Saturday night (the 4th) or on Sunday night. I found a flight going through Amsterdam for a decent rate on KLM which is a quality carrier but I have not heard back from SacMike so I haven't done anything about the room as of yet.
The other nice thing about KLM is that you are allowed 2 checked bags for free according to their website.

Good catch, Bill: All of the Arizonans will be in Munich on Sunday night the 5th of August! I went back and corrected my previous posts.

All of the Arizonans are now booked at the Hotel Europaeischer Hof Hotel for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday nights; 8/5, 8/6 and 8/7 respectively. If Los Canuckistanis y SacramentoMiguel wish another lodging that is fine, but please do consider making it within easy walking distance of Der Hof; our day trips will all start from Der Hof!
"The following is what was provided on the hotel Europaeischer Hof Hotel:
http://www.heh.de/default.aspx?lang=en
The prices for a twin room for the hotel below including tax and breakfast is 92 euros ($119.25)
The prices for a single room including tax and breakfast is 71.5 euros ($92.60)."

Hola Miguel Viejo, I am planning out this trip as if our "Clusterfecker" Wheatie was indeed going along with us, playing to the lowest common denominator as it were!
Since I know full well that Mark and SacMike can feck up a bowling ball if you give those two half a chance, I am following the K.I.S.S. protocol: Keep It Simple Stupid!
When you arrive at Das Hauptbahnhof from the Munich Airport, step out of the Bayerstrasse doors on the South Side of the Main Train Station, the Europaischer Hof Hotel is right in front of you. If by any chance Bungie decides to go with us, will someone please grab Steve by the hand and kindly lead him across the fecking street!
As long as Los Canuckistanis y SacramentoMike book a hotel within the following triangle, it is easy walking distance to Der Hof: Alter Botanischer Garten to the North, Karlsplatz to the East and Ludwig-Svorstadt to the South. Hauptbahnhof is the central location! PLEASE NOTE: All new info is now moved to first post of thread!

Now we will need to know where the group tour is going to take us on so we don't see the same thing twice.
Here is an excellent travel resource for Munich and I will work from this article to develop our Group City Tour on Monday, August 6: http://wikitravel.org/en/Munich Tuesday is going to be a full day of all things BMW, but I can provide alternate explorations for you Rising Sun Jap Crap Fanatics! Bring comfortable walking shoes for Monday, we are going to be pounding the freaking pavement!
Here is a great slideshow of Munich from Frommer's Travel: http://www.frommers....x.cfm?destid=99 Our Alps Extreme Riders Group 1-Day Munich: City Center / Marienplatz Itinerary:
Munich is the 3rd most populous city in Germany and the capital of the federal state of Bavaria. The city itself is made up of historic buildings and impressive architecture, as much of Munich was reconstructed after World World II. National Geographic Traveler ranked Munich at number 30 out of top 100 historical destinations around the world. One can spend many days discovering Munich… think BMW, beergarden, lederhosen, traditional Bavarian dishes…
We will start our day at Munich’s oldest open air market in Marienplatz. Since 1807, the 22,000 square meter Viktualienmarkt is the site of 140 stalls and shops offering gourmets and delicacies including wine, flowers, exotic fruit, game, poultry, spices, cheese, fish, juices and more. Breakfast is included with our rooms, but we can get snacks for the fat guys like yamafitter - Bill F. here!
Reach the Glockenspiel in the center of Marienplatz by 11:55a and keep your eyes on the clock tower of the ornate New Town Hall (Neues Rathaus). As the clock strikes 12, the automated clockwork figures begin to move to the chime. For the next 12 to 15 minutes, enjoy these handmade figurines enact scenes from the 16th century. The end of the spectacle is marked by the 3 chirps of a small golden bird at the top of the Glockenspiel.
Next walk up Dienerstrasse to Dallmayr Haus, the oldest gourmet shop in Munich. Dating back to the 17th century, this delicatessen offers freshly ground coffee, delicious cheese, freshly baked goods and other Bavarian delicacies. Grab lunch at the cafe attached to the shop, once again we will make sure the fat guys like SacramentoMike get fed.
After lunch we walk over to Frauenkirche. Built in the medieval era the “Cathedral of Our Blessed Lady” is the largest church in the city. The church’s distinctive twin dome towers are the models for many towers throughout Bavaria. Step inside the church to find an example of a tomb monument for a Habsurgian ruler at the entrance. Climb the stairs for a view of Munich and the Bavarian Alps, visible on a clear day.
Follow the cobblestone streets back toward the Glockenspiel. From the square, take a leisurely stroll down Kaufingerstrasse toward Karlstor. Many people consider this pedestrian-only promenade THE shopping street of Munich as the street is filled with retail stores both large and small.
Stop in the Augustiner Restaurant for a little break, Papa Chuy Viejo just might be getting a bit hungry from all of this damn walking. Sit outside in the beer garden behind the building if weather permits. Order up a pilsner and a pretzel. Established in 1328, the Augustiner brewery is Munich’s oldest brewery and produces some of Munich’s most popular brands of beer. Consider taking the beer in a “mass” (basically a 1-litre glass jug) for the true biergarten experience.
The afternoon ends at the medieval gate that marks the entrance to the old city. One of the three remaining gates from the 14th century, Karlstor was part of the defense walls that at one time completely surrounded Munich. It’s not surprising that Karlstor does not show its old age, as this 700 year old landmark has been refurbished over the years.
Our day wouldn’t be complete without at stop at the Hofbräuhaus. One of the must-see tourist spots, Hofbräuhaus can accommodate 3,500 beer drinkers and diners simultaneously, with 100 waiters and waitresses serving up to 30,000 guests on busy days. Make yourself comfortable at one of the communal tables and wrap up the evening with the lederhosen-clad house band, live music, and hundreds of your closes friends… the ingredients for an unforgettable night out.
Here is the Classic Bavarian Dish that our Herr Petey definitely recommends that you give a try: “Schweinehaxen” or roasted pig knuckles. The perfect schweinehaxen has crispy skin, fatty, juicy, and full of flavor. Of course the dish is not complete without a side of sauerkraut.

http://www.oebb.at/en/index.jsp Tom and Pam, were you going to rent a car? With your arriving 5 days ahead of the rest of the pack, you can really do some exploring of Bavaria including Innsbruck, Austria. If you don't rent a car, the German and Austrian Railways are incredibly efficient; much cheaper than car rental and gasoline will be!
http://fahrplan.oebb....2012&time=7:21 RailJet runs an express train daily direct to Salzburg, Austria; departs Munich main train station at 7:27am and you arrive in Salzburg in just an hour and a half at 8:57am. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salzburg Salzburg is another incredibly beautiful city, it is well worth a sightseeing visit!

http://www.amazon.co...s/dp/047088729X Tom, I own a great book entitled "Frommer: Munich and the Bavarian Alps." Mine is ten years old and is the Fourth Edition. Here is a link to where you can buy one for $11.80.
http://www.frommers....nations/munich/ Frommers.com is also a great travel resource. Follow these pages and you'll see a lot of what's in their book, but I do highly recommend buying the book. Answers every question you may have about Munich and Alps.
Here is just one of the many detailed maps in this book and there are many of them throughout the various chapters. I guess you could just have Bungie guide you around!

Even though this isn't motorcycles, it gives an interesting perspective of beautiful Germany from the air. It gets pretty funny at the end if you watch it all the way through.

Arriving in Munich on Aug 5th on Air Canada Flight #846 @ 10:05AM
Departing from Munich on Aug 15th on Air Canada Flight #847 @ 11:50AM
SacMike & I are now booked into the Hotel Europaischer Hof arriving on Aug 5th and departing on Aug 8th.
I don't need Don to make alternate arrangements for me on Aug 7th since I would like to go on the BMW Tour and drink the Kool-Aid.
Since Don thinks I'm fat you had better make that the Sugar-Free Kool-Aid.

I was going to make reservations for everyone, I was holding off to see if there were any last minute FJR Forum and AZ Beemer Folks who were joining us on the Alps Extreme Tour. But Tom reported back that FJRob1300 is not going and when I last spoke to AJ: HotRodZilla's were not going.
Let me post this up to http://www.azbeemers.org/ to let the AZ Beemer Club Members know that we are finalizing and closing any further participants effective February 15 for the Alps Extreme Tour 2012. Then I will email Munich for our BMW Museum and Factory Tour Reservations.
