Whoa!! What's this? It's only 2 months until NERDS?


So who the heck is coming to this thing, anyway?

Well if we look at the registrations on the "Official NERDS 2012 web site" we can see that:

There are seven bikes coming from Mass and New York (each), and there are 6 bikes from Ontario Can-a-dah!

Six bikes coming from the nutmeg state (CT).

Four bikes are coming all the way from New Hampster (including yours truly! ), and three bikes each from the host state of Vermont, and the Keystone state (PA).

Two bikes are coming from Little Rhody (RI), Vacation land (ME) and New Brunswick (Can-a-dah) and 2 all the way up from North Carolina!!

But the diversity (and distances) gets really big now...
We have bikes coming from Nova Scotia, New Joisey, Maryland, Kentucky, Tennessee, O-hi-Oh, Indiana, Illinoise, and a couple of nuts from the big mitten (Michigan).

But it looks like this year the two biggest travelers will be ninja Petey and sidekick Nosecone coming up from Stillwater, OK and Carrolton TX I guess everyone will have to buy those two a drink.

I tried to book a double at the Commodores Inn for Friday and Saturday nights and was told they are sold out for Saturday night. Are they any rooms available that are being held by the organizers of the rally? I wanted to attend along with a fellow rider from Philadelphia. Please let me know what direction I should go from here. Thanks in advance.

As promised yesterday, we have an announcement for you today!


NERDS 2012 merchandise is now available to be ordered on the FJR NERDS website!! ( <<< Yeah, that's a link, son)

As you should know by now, NERDS are all about having choices. So this year we have lots more choices for you.

This year, Mens' long sleeve tee shirts are available in two groovy colors (Stone Green or Natural) and we have ladies' long sleeve tees available in two ultra feminine colors (Baby Blue or Hawt Pink!). We also have some short sleeve NERDS tees in Orange, Yellow or Gray (Hey! It can be pretty hot in Vermont in August.) and a couple of sweatshirt options as well, both regular pullover style and hoodies (for the true hoodlum) in two shades of gray. The shirts and sweats are available in a wider range of sizes this year, especially the short sleeve shirts and sweats, although the prices for the bigger sizes do go up quite a bit. Sorry, that's what the screen printers charge us

We're also taking orders for 2012 NERDS stickers (deckels for you Canuckies), some cool looking NERDS coffee cups (great for drinking bourbon from, incognito, so I hear ) and what true NERD would feel complete without a NERDS mousepad gracing his desktop back home?


All orders will be placed and processed through PayPal. You do not need to have an account to make payments through PayPal, just a credit card. Please do not ask us to allow you to make payments any other way as it becomes difficult to keep all of the accounting straight. And don't forget to put your forum name somewhere in the order comment so we know who the heck to give your stuff to.

We only have a little over a month to take your orders before the order cutoff date at midnight July 22nd. There is no shipping. All merchandise will be hand delivered at the NERDS 2012 gathering. We need to place the bulk order early enough to get the goodies delivered in plenty of time for the event.

Now... let the ordering begin!!

Thanks Fred. I told the young lady on the phone that I was with a motorcycle group coming in on August 17th. I didn't specify FJR NERDS at the time. Everything was cleared up this morning and I booked my double. I'm so relieved. LOL. See you at the Adacks ride this weekend. The weather is going to be fabulous all weekend. Again, thanks for setting me straight.

Just a word of warning for anyone draggin' their feet about booking a room at the Commodores Inn for NERDS. I just checked with the Inn to find out how many rooms are left. We reserved a block of 45 rooms for NERDS. This is the current room status:

8/15, 30 booked, 15 remaining
8/16, 34 booked, 11 remaining
8/17, 38 booked, 7 remaining
8/18, 34 booked, 11 remaining

Other than the rooms remaining available in our reserved block, the Inn is Sold Out for NERDS weekend. Once our remaining rooms are booked, you'll be forced to sleep under a tarp in the parking lot.

With the Commodores generous cancellation policy, there is really no reason for you to wait. So all you feet-draggers out there, pick up the phone and call to make your reservations.

The current count of people who indicated that they would be staying at the hotel for NERDS is 49. That's more than the total number of rooms we have reserved so, just like musical chairs, you don't want to be the last one to sit...
