As of 11ish this morn it was pretty bad in many spots, sand all over in several spots and slick in the shady spots, does wonders for transitions.

Sorry to read that Ben is yucky and bad, being slick and shady with sand all over his spots. Hopefully Mr Howard can be reformed.

Hey, I responded to the OP with the same attention to detail and depth of information as he provided. I'm still not sure if Ben will die from sand ingestion.

Sometimes we forget that this is a national Forum and many members aren't familiar with roads and places 3.5k miles away.

there you go fairlaner its clear now

If it's less than a well traveled road, odds are it is still a mess. Did a short loop today taking in High Bridge and there was sand and slick spots everywhere. Didn't stop the squids though...they were out in force.

Title of this thread should be changed to "Ben Howard yummy!". Rode BH this afternoon for first time this season and the road was very clean. Awesome ride...felt like spring.

...so you're saying it's cleaner than that mess we rode through Sunday? Couldn't believe how much sand was on the bike, that WAS yucky!

It looked like a street sweeper had just passed through. Clean enough to lick.

You missed a good ride on Sunday Speedy, other than the rain, cold, wind and sand. But whose complaining -- you deal with the hand you're dealt!

Came close to joining you guys but daughters soccer game took priority. You guys looked pretty darn cold in the pictures you posted..

Had to see for myself (since it is in my backyard) So as of this AM Highbridge is a 9 for rideability, and Ben Howard is an 8.5 because of the rare sandy spots, courtesy of the cage drivers inabilities to stay on blacktop. Both did look like they had been swept nicely, it was a pleasant morning except for the honeydo stopoff at Costco later (on a friday no less). Almost forgot, street in Sultan named Marcus.
