From the repair invoice:-

Tore down transmission. Found worn gears, M3, M4, C2, C5 Bent shift fork. Rebuilt transmission, new seals, gaskets and lock tabs. Reinstalled engine, cleaned throttle bodies (were very dirty), synched throttle bodies, new oil, coolant and plugs.

Conga rats, Rog! See if you can look up Hans (where has JB been, anyway?) re: whether he eventually located and absorbed that gear shiftin' edumacation you seek.
