Ethanol free gas in the north east

I stopped to gas up a few minutes ago at my local convenience store, and low and behold, ethanol free is available there now. Now this is probably mainly in New York since it's a Stewarts Shop. But maybe in other north east states as well. The down side is that it's only premium 91 octane, and a...

    Larger Windscreen or Not

Now to make things confusing. I agree it is personal, but I never found one screen on any bike that works in all conditions for me. I purchased Three or four different windshields for my FJR depending how you look at it. In really cold weather I have used a larger V stream. In more varying...

    ignition disabler "chip key"

In respect to the Kawasaki C14. Although I have little use for the KIPASS system. Some of these statements are somewhat true. In respect to the examples given, I also remember (somewhat). But here's the thing. On the Kawasaki Concours14 KIPASS. Yes it requires a fob (or chip for the purpose of...

N/Line FJR Dash - If we can get enough people, they might make another batch

OK, I went ahead and sold the shelf. But the only fair way was to offer it up in the order that PM's came in. So it is gone now. Sorry I didn't have more to help folks out. I just hope I got the order correct. If not please accept my apologies . But I do try to do the right thing.

    Tank Bags

I have had many tank bags over the years. I have five right now. Lately I have also been using the ring mount BagsConnection tank bags on my FJR. (for previously stated reasons). I have had three Bags connection tank bags and still have two. One was just too big and got in the way of the handle...

N/Line FJR Dash - If we can get enough people, they might make another batch

Well Mike it's more a combination of mostly aesthetics, but also my finding I really do not need it. Although it seems pretty well designed, I think it kind of takes away from the great looking FJR instrument panel area (for me). So although it gives much better visibility of the mounted...

Keyless mod - anyone ever done this?

Although I prefer not to go into specifics. I am a person who had lots of complaints on the C14's key-less system known as KIPASS. The truth be told is that system is the main reason I now ride an FJR. So maybe KIPASS did me a favor, since in all honesty, I like the FJR better than the C14...

N/Line FJR Dash - If we can get enough people, they might make another batch

I have a gen II shelf sitting on my shelf. I personally like the bike better without it. So I don't use it.

    MotorCyclist Comparison

I really never understand why folks gives so much weight over what some other folks might think about their preferences in a motorcycle. The fact is these comparisons are nothing more than other folks opinions. So why worry about it? IMO, both the BMW and Triumph have too much of a tour bike...

Electronic Cruise Control FJR 2006 1300AE

I have used the McCruise on both a Concours14 and now my FJR. It is by far my preference. Yes they are expensive. But being built for specific bikes. As well as basically being plug and play is another big factor. Then there is a McCruise customer service that is second to none. I screwed up my...

    Cycle World Feb 2011

Yes, removing the secondaries (or butterflies)and adding a fuel processor such as a Power commander, makes a big difference in the bikes low end power between 2,000 & 4,000 RPM's. But it also gives you a very abrupt throttle response. The addition of a G2 Throttle tamer helps smooth it out a...

Will a Gen 1 rear seat fit a Gen 2?

I had a vendor send me a rear Gen I seat to go with my Gen II front. Thankfully the OEM rear worked well with it until the correct rear came in! As stated above, the seat rears are totally different. The attaching points make it impossible to swap them out!

    Cycle World Feb 2011

I read quite a few Concours14 and KIPASS comments in this thread. I can tell you that I now own my 2010 FJR after owning a C14. The main reason I don't own the C14 anymore is because of the KIPASS system. I owned the bike for 3 years and nothing but trouble with the KIPASS system. People at the...
