    Fearing pocket storage problem

Mine broke a few weeks ago. Bought a small but powerful magnet at the hardware store and glued it on the inside. Stays shut, looks stock and easily opens by lifting up the lid. It actually works better than the factory latch solution.

    brakeaway cruise control

I have a Breakaway on my 05. Works great. Holds whatever speed I set as long as the road is flat. Easy to add or subtract throttle as the terrain changes. Certainly is not a cruise control but does the job for me.

    Alaska May 20-June 4

Be prepared for lots of mud. Last time I rode the Alcan in late spring/early summer it was a muddy mess. 2nd time went later in the summer and it was was a dust fest. Probably preferred the dust. In both cases had a great time.

Well now, I see you've been holding out on me...

Issaquah-Fall City road is a nice ride (5 minutes from my house). Be careful though. Many weekend days there are a pair of motorcycle cops that hide behind barns and pull folks over for doing a few miles an hour over the speed limit. Lots of problems with very hight speeds on the this road...

    Offroading an FJR? ...or...InFeDeLiTy...*gasp*!

All of the large adventure bikes will go on dirt roads and are great for riding down to So. America but they don't really do well on single track trails. Best of all worlds (that has been stated above) is a 350-600cc dual purpose bike. Then you can still use the FJR for everything else. I am...

Hearing protection - ear plugs - some thoughts, pics and info

I have a custom make pair of Ear Defenders. Purchased at the Seattle MC show in 2007. Wear them all the time. They work great on the bike (fit past my very snug helmet) and excellent for use on airplanes and when my hard of hearing father-in-law is over for a visit and turns the TV way up...

End of Year Ride - Sunday Dec. 27th - anyone interested?

Be careful tomorrow. Just took a short ride on Ames Lake Road over to Carnation and there are a bunch of shiny spots. Did not have any problem but many of the shady areas deserve attention.

    Great helmet info

At the Seattle Motorcycle Show weekend before last a friend of mine's wife was fitted with an Arai helmet by Robert at the Service Pavilion www.theservicepavilion.com. He spent more than two hours correctly fitting her Arai Profile. I was so impressed that I brought my Arai in the next day for...

Breakfast Meet & Greet before Seattle Cycle Show

Thanks for setting this up Dave. Good to see everyone. I went back on Sun. with my wife to get my Christmas presents and the whole show was pretty much empty. Had almost the whole place to ourselves. People must have been afraid of the weather.
