Cool, I'll try both things and see. It seems like the cupped tire could be it because the front is almost worn out and after a 2k mile trip last week, it's noticably worse.
I've got an '07 that makes a whirring sound when cornering. It happens at any speed over 30mph at any engine speed and even when the clutch is pulled in. Anybody had this problem? or can you think of anything else it might be besides wheel bearings? Any help is appreciated.
My kid has an SV-650. The FJR feels much better in the corners but the SV will kill it for all out cornering. I think that weight on a bike makes it feel more planted but really the lighter bike will still out corner it. So for my 2 cents, it's an illusion.
I don't post much here although I do lurk from time to time. I read about the Ignition failures and thought " Glad mine doesn't have that problem. The next morning during rush hour, it died. I almost got run over, by a dump truck no less, getting off the road. Because of the info I read, I...

Mine was doing this intermittently but the new ECU to fix altitude sickness made it go away. Sorry as I know that doesn't help much. Mine didn't seem to get worse as time went on though so I'd live with it if it isn't bad.
If it ain't broke, fix it 'till it is. There is probably more stuff you could look at and maybe find something wrong (or break it checking). My 2 cents.
You could trade it in for an '07 or '08 and get the adjust on the fly knobs. SWEET!! I just had to add that because of all the gen one "it's faster" stuff that gets added all the time.
I have ridden with a couple of Harley guys for three years now and all was fine. I was on my old concours and they kept up pretty well. I got the FJR and ride it what seems mellower to me but now they are saying I ride like a wildman. I have to admit, they go BORINGLY SLOW as of late. I'd...
