finished my fork rebuild yesterday. I did knock the washer off the nut so I could torque the lower bolt that holds the cartridge in position. Test rode it about 100 miles with no leaks. Used 5w Belray oil. The shocks are more firm than I remembered when the bike was new. Very glad I didn't use...

Just started my fork seal rebuild today. Thanks to all for the great tips.

I have leak between the pumpkin and drive shaft. Is there a gasket between these mating surfaces or is the pumpkin pushing gear lube out? I have to top it off every 200 miles adding about 2 oz. Any ideas before I tear into it. Dealer has not seen this before. Thanks for the help

Don't do it!!!! I had mine changed after the original recall, then had a problem with the new one. Bike stalled when I started off on a tight left had turn. Just about the time I put my feet up on the pegs, it stalled slamming the bike to the ground. Yamaha stood behind replacing the TPS...
