Whine in Audio on Handeld CB

Question: Does the squelch setting have any effect while transmitting? I've always been under the impression it does not, but a lot of people I talked to feel strongly that it does. Anyone know for sure? I believe that the squelch setting only cuts out unwanted signals on the receive side. I...

Push-to-talk switch - how did you mount it?

Ditto........ It does move your hand out on the grip a bit though. Gary

    My day at Oshkosh

Thanks for the pics. I used to go to Oshkosh every year. It's a blast! I was lucky enough to be there the year the astronauts who went to the moon made an appearance. It was a long time ago but I think there were 7 or 8. They had a panel discussion. I got to sit in on a lecture about the SR-71...

    C14 and FJR comparison

ww Here is Fred's exact quote: "First valve check on C14 is 15K miles. Not sure yet how much work it entails, but I suspect it will be harder than on the FJR. FJR valve check interval is every 26K miles, so it will go almost twice as long before needing to be checked" Gary

    Rode a C14 Today

I live in Escondido, Ca and the local dealer got two in yesterday. I went over after work and sat on the machine and I would have to agree that the seat is higher than the FJR. I did notice that it is a lot softer however, don't know if they used some sort of gel or something but it was...

06 yamaha tall shield in 95 heat

I put the Yamaha "tall" screen on my 2007 FJR two months ago. I took it off a few weeks later when it started warming up. Not enough airflow to keep cool in the summer for me. I am only 5'6" tall so even when it is down all the way I don't get much airflow. It is a lot quieter for me when in the...

    Hwy Pegs

I've had Wild Bill's pegs on my bike for over a month now and really like them. They don't drag when folded so when I get to a twisty section of road I just fold them up. When droning along on the highway I put them down so I can stretch out some. Do a search and you will find some interesting...

    Mercury refill

Most dentists now days use composite fillings that contain no mercury. If you could find an old thermometer you could get it from that, or an old ac/heat controler.

    Mirrors on 07.

Oky Doky madmike2 I stand corrected. I made the assumption that you had to attach them at the pivot not at the base. Gary

2007 Altitude Surging Problem - Members Wanted

Questions: =================================== What is the year of your bike, current mileage and city/state in which you live? Has your bike surged at altitude? If so, have you noticed any pattern as to a particular altitude the surging occurs? Have you experienced surging while changing...

    Mirrors on 07.

I could be wrong but...I don't think that the FZ1 mirrors will fit a 2007 FJR. I Had a 2005 FZ1 and a friend has a 2006 FZ1 and the mirror mounts for both FZ's are different than for the 2006-2007 FJR. I would look for some type of spacer as mentioned above. Gary
