Brake Lights started flickering and now stuck constant on

Solved! :) You gents were on top of it. Turns out was a bulb shorting in the socket. Re-tested the brake switches and relay - good I pulled and tested both bulbs - both tested good. Checked and tested the sockets - both were clean, no corrosion and continuity check out. (I did the...

Brake Lights started flickering and now stuck constant on

Thanks for the suggestions - I'll recheck the rear brake switch and the bulbs for double contact. Then try to trace out from the sockets back looking for a short.

Need a bit of help trouble shooting my electrical issue. Bike 2007 Last ride my brake lights started flickering on and off. (Tail light remained on and constant). Needed Gen2 - Front Cowling Stay 1

Looking for a Front Cowling Stay for a 2007 FJR. Yamaha 3P6283561000 Cowling Stay Dropped the bike on a steep slope and shattered the left hand side mirror and apparently bent the Cowling Stay. Dealer has been holding the bike as the Stay is on backorder for the last few months. I can not...

    POI on Around Superior ride

Have you ridden the Westside of the MI? M25 in the thumb is a fairly boring ride, M23 north is better but both pale in comparison to M22 on the West side. Ride M25 if you want to try it once, then pick up Highway 10 near Bay City over to the west side. Take 31 into Manistee where you can pick...

Super Tech Oil Filter back on Walmart shelves

My local Walmart has the Super Tech Oil filters back on the shelf now. They only had the 2-1/2" model in white available. (I checked the Website and it did not show super tech being available at all.) Anyway, any one else seeing this, or know if the 3-12" version fitting the FJR is coming...

    Positioning to check tire pressures

I don't even bother to use an air gauge. I've found that just kicking the tire I can tell if pressure is lower than I prefer. I do use the gauge to air the tire up when low, standing back up to kick the tire when already down on one knee to air up the tire is unnecessary effort.

    Indianapolis, IN - Riders

Sure do. Typically come into Shoals on 450 out of Bedford. Then 150 to West Baden Springs, turn around and back 150 to 550 into Loogootee and re-ride 450 back towards Bedford.

Current Best Source for Fairning Rivets

I used these in the dash panels: Amazon: Pit Posse PPRM6. Motorcycle sport bike push/pry MC nylon rivets: $6 for 15 pack. My local dealer charges $4 each for 6mm rivets The OEM rivets seem to be made from a bit softer plastic material, but these went in and held just fine. I figure I will...

    Clutch level freeplay

Like Kaelaria noted above, bleed the clutch. It is basically your only option to maintain free play with the FJR clutch lever. The next step if you want better control over free-paly Id think is to upgrade to an adjustable clutch lever.

    Olympia or Tourmaster

Generally speaking, protection and durability wise the Olympia and Tour Master are basically on par. The Olympia line is a step up in style, fit/finish and material grade /comfort performance. If you can afford to do so; I say the extra money spent for Olympia is well worth it. Especially if...

Simple Riding Tips for Safety and/or Comfort

Ride Commando! It’s the seams in one’s under drawers that cause monkey-butt. Or if commando is not to your style, buy some of the overly priced long distance riding shorts.

    iphone mount suggestions

My phone is in a basic rubber sleeve type case. I have wondered about this as well, but when in the mount I cannot pull or slide it out so I have doubted that the case is the result of the incidents. I have yet to use it out of the rubber sleeve as a test (as it is also what saved the phone the...

    iphone mount suggestions

If you go with the Ram X-Grip, just be sure to tether or strap in your phone. I have had my 4s ejected from the grip 2x now in about 1,500 mi of use. First time it hit the ground at ~45MPH (it survived but the back is shattered). The second was at ~65MPH, but luckily was on the charger and...
