I had a 2006 that did the same thing. I installed a power commander and enrichened the bottom end quite a bit and it ran as good as my new one. Done.

My mechanic told me not to worry about the recall. He has not heard of any gear failures. I decided not to do mine.

Keep the fancy cruise control. My FJR just got a new lease on life!

My dealer who happens to be the head mechanic told me that if it were his bike he would not do the recall. Mine runs great so that`s the way I am leaving mine.

I hope they upgrade the second gear.

I`m not doing mine. I had a nice talk with my dealer who is also a mechanic and he said that if it were his bike, he would not do the recall. Just my opinion.

What happens if I decide not to do the recall? I bought my 2016ES new and I don`t beat it and I don`t track it. I`d like to hear from some of you high mileage owners to see if you had any second gear issues. With the announcement of the end of the FJR, I might wait to see what Yamaha`s...

I had every Kawasaki series up to the ZX-14. When it came time for a tourer, I picked the FJR. The Concourse is way too big and heavy for me. When it came time for an adventure bike, I picked the Super Ten. Love them both.
