800 mile rear tire nailed in Maine

Gotta side with everyone else here. Put a plug in it and save a couple of hundred. If plugs worry you, have them take it off and patch the back side. Still gonna be cheaper.

    Is FJR a good commuter?

My commute is 32 KM (20 miles in American) each way and I do it year round. The bike may have substantial weight, but it is so well balanced you don't notice it. And once your moving it's like the bikes not even there..Love It

    Backrest off 2006

Anyone have a need for a backrest and mounting plate from an 06. Unfortunately the trunk suffered a catastrophic failure so it is garbage bound, but the 2 parts are in excellent shape. Cost.... would like to recover the cost of shipping, over that it don't matter.. Neil

Michelin Pilot Road 4 Tires Review

I'm on my 3rd set of the PR4GT's since I switched from the Metzler Z8's. Just couldn't seem to get more than 7000 KM out of them (about 4000 miles) so figured a change was in order. Absolutely no regrets with the switch. Love the way they grip in the rain (Lots of that, I live in Vancouver...

    US / Canada Exchange Rate

Yeah, just got back off a Caribbean cruise, and of course the dollar dumped just before we got off the boat. I think the on board bill was more than I paid for the cruise, and the mandatory tipping was dam near 1 months wages :) (OK, maybe a slight exaggeration) . Have cancelled the usual 2...

    gear suggestions

Olympia X Moto all season tear down jacket is a great choice. Not the cheapest, but not over priced. Comes apart easy and goes back the same way. As for rain proof, probably nothing short of rain gear is going to be waterproof. Every piece of gear I have ever owned (and that has been a few in...

    Differences in ignition switches

OK, so did some playing around and discovered the following.. The other 2 wires do nothing. The same ignition switch crosses over to several other bike models, so may have something to do with them. Found this by hooking up another ignition with the extra wires and it worked fine. The ignition I...

    Differences in ignition switches

OK, I didn't say what I meant.. Yes I do have a side stand, sorry for the confusion. The the switch I removed does not have the second pigtail. If the one I install does, then I should be able to tie them together and the ECM or ignition will see the stand as up, and should in theory fire.. Yes...

    Differences in ignition switches

wfooshee, if it is for the side stand, and as mine doesn't have one, should closing the circuit act as a bypass for it?

    Differences in ignition switches

I'm the second owner, and I know the first. Any work he had done was at the dealer. As for myself, the shop I use did have the ignition out when they were installing my risers, but they didn't touch the wiring. I have the pics uploaded to photo bucket, but have no idea how to get them here...

    Differences in ignition switches

escapefjrtist, did talk to my local shop and apparently mine was not on the list.. raYzerman19, tried cleaning, lubing, flushing and still no go. The pins are definitely hooped. Guess the next stop will be the dealer and see what they think about the differences, and if it will work. And of...
