The two and three cylinder scream machines called "sport tourers"

I stand corrected and am in awe of the ""spackle paint job"" on the front end picture. Flies just love that stuff when you're stopped for a break.

The two and three cylinder scream machines called "sport tourers"

Since I retired in 2020 I spend some time looking at the YouTube motorcycle videos. One thing I've noticed is that there seems to be an undercurrent of these "near naked bikes" being suggested, if not pushed, for sport touring. I guess it sort of chaps my backside, for one because they've...

TIRES?? What tires are everyone running on their FJR?

That looks like the Angel GT that I just had changed out in DesMoines on the way back from Everett, Washington. I bought a cheap Dunlop, knowing it'd at least get me back to Atlanta. Just installed my new Angel GT rear. The Dunlop's going to be saved in case I should sell the bike in the future...

TIRES?? What tires are everyone running on their FJR?

An-guy I've used Pilot Road 3,4, and 5. Over 73,000 miles on my FJR. In terms of the Michelins, I've gotten the best service life from the threes, but now my latest set that I got through Amazon are Perelli Angel GT 's. They were a new model tire, and I read the reviews on them. I bought two...

Tracer 9 GT as FJR Replacement?

I sat on one at the Mountain Motorsports dealership in Duluth, Georgia. It wouldn't be my choice for a replacement for the FJR. The salesman I spoke to had the opportunity to travel with a group riding a Tracer. He'd also traveled on an FJR. Without saying much he gave his opinion. One of which...

Congratulations "Grandpap". That little girl is going to have a grandad that has an adventurous soul and stories to tell her.

    Another long journey

Ct, good to hear from you. Glad you're still riding too. Sometimes along the way folks look at us cyclists and you can see in their eyes they think we're fools. To be expected because many are slaves to societies expectations. I enjoy when I stop for gas and someone approaches, seeing my FJR...

    Another long journey

It's not simply "a sport" or a "mode of transportation", but a life. You can watch scenery from a TV, or a computer screen, but you can't feel it like you do on a cycle. You truly become one with nature, and then the scenery appears. Unless you're on a motorcycle, you may as well be sitting in a...

    Another long journey

It feels spiritual for me at times. In 2016 I was on my first trip to Seattle, and part of that journey including a visit to Glacier National Park. On the way I'd left Bozeman that morning in a pouring rain. The rain let up slightly but I rode for over four hours in the rain off and on. In the...
