Ride from Whidbey Island to the olympic peninsula

I didn't get up hurricane ridge, someone on the ferry told me it was closed because of the snow, I saw enough of the snow, it's never that pretty when you are sitting on two wheels. We are going back for a week in Aug so I'll try and get up there then.

    Whidbey Island, Olympic peninsula

As I get older I figure if you're going to play you gonna pay. I'll make them work for the money but in the end I figure I'ld have more money if I stayed home and watched wheel of fortune or something but what fun would that be. I think I will make some inquiries, I really don't think I was...

Ride from Whidbey Island to the olympic peninsula

Thanks to a lot of advice from some people around here I took a ride from Whidbey over to Port Townsend and west to along hwy 101, then Hwy 112 to the on the Olympic peninsula. Not the greatest day but I have my warm Olympia suit, and heated gear and it still is winter so I'll brave it. I'm the...

    BC Roads worth trying

The Sea to Sky, from Whistler to North Van is a sweet ride but the cops are everywhere and the speed is way too low if there isn't a lot of traffic. It's worth a ride on a day when you aren't going to run into a lot of peeople that don't understand fast lanes and slow lanes. Sort of like riding...

    Whidbey Island in March

Bacon on a doughnut,, only in America. No, I couldn't do that my arteries aren't what they use to be. Too much deep fried goodness over the years and I really do need to take care if I want to keep riding.

    Whidbey Island in March

I took a little spring break down on Whidbey. I rode the bike and my wife took the cage and dog. It's a balance between what I want and what she wants. The friday morning was pretty grey and wet down I5 but by the time we his Deception Pass it was starting to break up. I went down the Island...

    Whidbey Island, Olympic peninsula

Thanks for all the advice, I think I'll try and head out hwy 112 towards Neah Bay/ Cape Flattery. If there is a slide or closure I'll figure it out but I don't see anything on the Washington hwy department site. I'll post a ride report when I get back. The weather might be iffy but the sun is...

    BC Roads worth trying

Another thing about the radar detectors is if they catch you with one they show no mercy, are really really pissy about making you life hell if they can. I know this for fact, Mine quit on me, it has saved me some money but maybe I'm old enough to start listening to shit that makes sense. Ok, I...

    BC Roads worth trying

yeah, my wife says stuff that makes sense too, but I don't really pay a lot of attention. Radar detectors are legal here, but they use alot of laser when they are serious about setting up a trap. Be real carefull in the big parks, Jasper and Banff especially, the speed limit is really low, like...

    Whidbey Island, Olympic peninsula

i've never had an issue with getting the bike on a ferry up here, i even showed up 10 min before the ferry left on a friday long weekend and went to the front of the line. It seems they always find a little space for another bike. I'll see how Washington state ferries are but it's not really...

    Whidbey Island, Olympic peninsula

I'm heading down to Whidbey, staying at a place overlooking Useless bay, (you have to love that name) and wanted to do a little riding. My wife is taking the dog and car and I'm on the FJR. I like the rides on whidbey but was thinking about taking the ferry over to Port Townsend and spending...
