If you wish that Basecamp handled individual files like Mapsource did ...

I am around but don't log in here that often. If you are interested send me an eMail - [email protected] I use BC all the time but just prefer to maintain a library of separate routes. My 'BaseMaps' application is pretty simple to use but you do have to deal with setting up existing...

If you wish that Basecamp handled individual files like Mapsource did ...

The program is solid ... get it installed and you might like it. You do have to be able to find a file (Basemaps.exe , without which we wouldn't be having this discussion so it HAS to be there) and a folder (clearly described as existing in your 'Documents' folder). Admittedly I could have...

Hi Russ I am on the road, in the Ozarks ... home next week. There is an email address in the help file ... give me a time and number and I'll call help you set it up. Should take about 5 minutes. If I was doing this for dough, I'd KISS it but ....

Yikes and my apologies!! Newbie on the site and don't know how to retrieve private messages. Also been on the road for a couple of weeks. Anyone still interested in using an alternative to basecamp file system can download an install of my "BaseMaps" here...

If you wish that Basecamp handled individual files like Mapsource did ...

Basecamp is great. When I first installed it, I had a large library of .gdb files from trips I wanted to preserve and eventually, re-ride. I was NOT HAPPY that Garmin chose to eliminate the standard "FILE|OPEN|SAVE|SAVE AS" interface in favor of a single database using 'Collections'. I found it...

Does this look particularly BAD to you?

Both sides look like this ... Slight corrosion on the pipe itself and obvious rust on the clamps. It's not as bad as it looks in the photo but still .... This is an '05 with 21K on the odo ... No real maintenance history other than recalls. I put a couple of hundred miles on it before...

some advice appreciated re: gen 1 cam chain adjuster

I have a new-to-me 2005 with 21K on the clock. Maintenance history is sparse ... recalls have been done but I really don't know much beyond that. I am working my way through an inspection and have the motor mostly exposed ... just removed the breathers ... cooling system is still intact...

Gen1 - new high power stator ... ground spider issues?

Full of questions as I learn the bike ... I am upgrading the stator for the additional 100 watts for goodies. I tour 2-up a couple of times a year and mama likes the comfort of heated gear. Question is ... With increased current, do I need to be concerned about potential ground spider issues...

Length of stock rear shock link?

I bought an 05 and love it. Has a Corbin saddle and I am able to flat foot the bike despite a 30" inseam. I now suspect that the rear may have lowering links. Could someone provide me the actual length of the stock links for an '05? Thanks so much! David Hunt
