    Steering Bearing and Head Shake

Cool. Another reference to this procedure. Let's bump this zombie.... This procedure worked for my FJR when nothing else did. Decel wobble banished. Old tires not a factor. Full load, no problem.

    Handlebar shake

In Dec '17 I found 'Shucking the Shakes' by The Motorcycle Project. The procedure in the article cured my FJR of the Shakes / decel wobble thru today. There is no longer decel headshake with worn ragged tires. There is no longer decel headshake with a fully loaded bike. Worth a try if your...

My quest to replace the Quest.

I found the RF-1200 fit a little sportier than my RF-1100. Sportier in that the RF-1200 is 'relieved' in the neck area in back, which would better serve sport bike riding. I ended up buying new RF-1100 crown and cheek pads, and the helmet now fits like new.

    Handlebar shake

Claim: The FJR is prone to low speed decel steering headshake. (Wobble)Support: Dozens, maybe hundreds, of rider complaints across multiple forums. To address your claim it is maintenance error. I have maintained my six bikes over 30 years and 248k miles. Only the FJR wobbles. I have a 93k...

    Handlebar shake

This topic should be 'PINNED' in the Mechanical Problems section, so all the new members can become aware, and don't have to wonder what happened to their post when it gets instantly pushed to NEPRT. Crazy how this FJR weakness gets treated like a non-issue here. I have 5 other bikes that...

O6 FJR Water pump re build

The 'mechanical seal' is likely to be fragile, so use care. Different bike, but Rotax used to sell the parts separately, but installation damage to the mechanical seal was common. Now the Rotax part comes as a shaft in mechanical seal assy. This part I pressed in easily using a drill press...

Allied Powersports 604100 - Bluetooth TPMS

Found these listed on Amazon at $89 and at Allied Powersports for $80.(for 2) No Reviews and no App pictures. Wondering if anybody has tried these units ? They are internally mounted on the rim like a tradional TPMS, yet claim Bluetooth monitoring via the downloadeable App. These retain the...

    2007 AE No brake lights

While I agree with the 'Note' about the switches & Brake Light relay, perhaps it should be noted the relay is shown without ignition power applied. Interesting about this circuit, the ABS ECU can tell which brake Lever/Pedal is applied because of the voltage presented on the brown/black wire...

    ES VS A

Has any ES owner ever reported decel wobble ? If not, then that is a major win in my opinion.

    Split: Sena Use

Hmmm, never been able to get my 5fm paired to my friends 20S.Was an upgraded 5fm software required to accomplish this pairing?

heated gear for 2 up riding

The Firstgear dual wireless controller works great for our two Gerbings jacket liners. I have the power module under the seat. Have the remote velcro'd to the clutch master. Rarely run my Gerbings gloves, but have combined them with my liner on a single control. They ran cooler than I might...

    Servicing LED lights

I've seen dozens of Hi-brightness LED's failed, in traffic lights. Furthermore, solder joints failing from thermal cycling or whatever has the same result to the end user. Time will tell if the FJR LED headlight design is durable.

    2013 Rear brake pedal movement?

The search function worked. The symptom was a soft pedal in the first part of the stroke, yet not so bad as the OP. The fix was bleeding of the front circuit. That diagram in post #36 is key to it making sense. Bravo forum. More data to contribute... The pedal was firm for 2 years, then...

Two Wheels of Suches Open for the Season!

Shit, it's true. GA60 in Fannin County, south of Morganton has 'chip-seal' paving in progress. Smoother than the nearby NC chip-seal, the small finished section I rode looks good. The worker claimed grip will be good once it is 'run in'.
