I sold my FJR about two mnths ago and bought a 1200GT.
To answer the question of which one is faster.
The FJR redlined in 5th gear with the Zumo recording a 236 kph reading.
On the GT it redlines in 6th gear with a Zumo reading of 253kph.

Michelin Pilot Road 2 is the only tyre that lasts here, due to our warmer climate etc.
Also, on my FJR I don't get that flat section in the middle. When my centre is gone, my sides are also gone.
The sides of your tyre that shows no wear we call here "Chicken strips" :clapping:
Ok, must add here we don't have snow, ice or slippery roads.
We have sunshine 365 days of the year. We ride in the middle of Winter here without dressing like an Eskimo.

Bought the FJR for the wife to ride pillion with me, she went on three runs and lost interest. So now I have two bikes. Actually a waste of money, but what can I do.

I was reading all the previuos threads about tipping over before I bought my FJR. And at first I thought I will have my turn then one day, cause it seems like this is a common problem with the FJR, or its riders.

I got a +4 CeeBailey screen with my bike. I'm 1.80m tall, so the screen is too high for me. When in the down position, I still look through the screen. And that is annoying! It catches me excactly where the screen makes a tilt to guide the wind higher...
What I do.
When on the centre stand, I leave the side stand out also. Move the bike forward, and as it starts to go hold it with the front brake lever to ensure it does not go off the centre stand with a big bang!! Once off teh centre stand, use the side stand before mounting the bike.
