    Urinal etiquette

Some guys who prefer a stall suffer from shy or bashful bladder. They can't start the flow of urine if they are in a space where others can see or where their inability to get the flow going might be noticed, i.e., by zipping up and walking away from the urinal with no splash of urine or...

    aerostich guy;s

I've had two Roadcrafters (different sizes with different modifications) and I didn't ride more than 100 miles in either one. I just couldn't get a good fit, mostly in the shoulders where the shoulder armor/material dug into the outside of my upper arms. Removing the armor did not help; it was...

    helmet/glasses

About the only helmets I've found that work with glasses are Shoei's. Their helmets come with a channel where the temples of the glasses are usually situated. I'm on my third Shoei (RF-900, Multitec, and now RF-1100) and all have been glasses friendly. I always try on other makes when...

    BRP fun detour

It is a hoot on a bike. Some friends and I recently did a six-day ride in NC, WV, and VA. We used 151 to get from the BRP to Candler, which is just west of Asheville. Over the course of two days we rode 151 heading both north and south--twice. You can get into a great cadence and the turns...

    FJRF002 thru FJRF005

I'll add my input to 1 and 3. Yes, many of us have used the G2 throttle tube and cam to ease the abrupt on/off action of the original on the models you mention. The real problem in my mind, however, is the excessive leanness of the air/fuel mixture, necessary to pass emissions tests required...

    Wearing oversuit over pressed clothes

Fold your work clothes neatly and put them in a top case or side case, then change at work. Think about it--what magic could there be in a more expensive suit that will save your clothes from getting wrinkled? None. Any oversuit will wrinkle them. Sorry 'bout that.

    New owner here.

The illustrations are from a service manual. I ride in 95 degree NC heat all summer long (mostly in stop and go traffic) and don't find the heat a problem. Yes, there is heat from the bike and ankles can get warm, but straddling any inline four engine will be hot. It just comes down to how...

    WTB 2006 Left Mirror

I have a pair off of my 2006. Are you still looking?

    Rear Tire Question

I think this tire is still safe to ride. At least I'd ride on it (given what I can see and after checking the pressure--should be about 42 psi), although I'd think twice about riding much in very wet conditions. Buying a new tire soon is probably a good idea, as this does show signs that it is...

    22 days and 6,648 miles

Wow, I'm envious. What a wonderful trip. You have a great eye too--the photos show it. I'm still looking for the day I can do that. Seems when I have the time I don't have the money and when I have the money I don't have the time. Good for you to take the opportunity.

    Radiator Melting Wires?

And if you are still worried about it, enclosing the wire bunch in split conduit might give you peace of mind and protect the wires from any adverse heat-related problems. The stuff is available at every auto parts store.

    PuppyChow's August Adventure.

Sam, A great report! Thanks for all the wonderful pictures. The scenary out east is pretty, but the western part of the country sure has the spectacular stuff. I've crossed the country numerous times, but never on a mc. I have got to do that one of these days.

    LED Brake Lights

I can't speak for Matt, but when I mounted my HyperLites I removed the rear side reflectors and mounted them on the flat bracket that remained.

    Cornering Speeds

In corners I completly ignore speed limit signs and take them balls to the wall. When the bags start scraping and lift the real wheel off the ground, I use the skills I have honed over many years to collect the FJR as it slides and then power out of the corner with the front wheel in the air...

    Pulsating engine speed?

Umm, guys, I agree with all the comments about feathering the clutch, but this fella is going to have a hard time doing that. He's on an AE. The clutch lever is one control he doesn't have. A refresher course in reading comprehension will start in 30 minutes....

    Slow leak in front tire

Some loss is normal over time. I was losing a little more than normal recently from the front tire and finally discovered that the valve in the stem was loose. I got one of those little valve removal tools (which you can also use to tighen the valve) and tightened it up--problem solved. Turns...

    Adventure touring

I'm glad the damage to people and bike wasn't any worse! This incident speaks to the wiseness of riding with at least one other bike when taking the road less traveled. Scary....

    Pogo Saturday on the BRP

Thanks for the photos. My garage is in Charlotte, so the Blue Ridge is my playground too! I'll be up there a couple of days this week exploring different roads. It may not be the Grand Tetons, but it is pretty grand. I'm primed to go after your post.
