    Couldn't Stay Away

Diversity in the garage is a natural thing, and makes for a better rider, and one who understands that 1 motorcycle cannot be everything. You need at least 2 more, totally different in catagory. Steve

Sore Neck/Shoulder muscles after longer FJR rides

If I go on a big tour, or a lonmg day, I bring along Tylenol, on any of my bikes. Steve

    ONE-TIME DOGPILE MONDAY!!!!

May I recommend a nice clean Yamaha Serow, more suited to your 16' inseam. Honestly, you've got sour grapes because your too small to properly control a very controllable motorcycle, the FJR. God help you on any Harley, any full sized dual purpose bike, and don't bother looking at a Gold Wing...

    Is This Normal?

Don't worry about this terse response Harvey. He's probably just been handed his weekend 'honey-do-list'. Steve

Side cases AND top box overloading/instability

You see the warnings when you look at factory top box pics. Has anyone had any instabilty or bottoming out when touring two up with all the kit?? Steve

    cheapest PR2 tire

I got a set 3 months ago from Motorcyclesuperstore.com delivered for 290$. Their regular price was 325, but I punched into Google 'motorcycle superstore discount coupons', and found a site, 'retail me not', that had a list of coupon codes, one of which offered 10% off. Steve

Pedrosa sure is a sour little guy isn't he?? Geez, you won the race, crack a friggin smile. Steve

    Desert Valley Powersports, Prosser, WA

I had a front tire puncture last week about 25 miles south west of Ukiah, Oregon. Nursed the bike with my on board compressor back to John Day, our ride HQ. I decided to make a run for Desert Valley Powersports in Prosser, Wa. to get a new tire. I pulled in there at about 4:00pm on a Thursday...

    Just a small rant

There are certain engine designs that just do NOT need to be louder, and one of those is a Japanese cruiser engine, if possible, worst sounding than a open piped HD. Steve

what engine oil are you using?

Sorry about the spelling mistake, it's shear viscosity https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shear_viscosity Steve

what engine oil are you using?

I mean, you guys can use fermented Yak spit if you want, it doesn't really bother me. And I have no concerns about wasting limited resources. If I was, I'd sell all my bikes and truck, get an electric car, and not talk out of both sides of my mouth. Steve

what engine oil are you using?

True, But it also has a much lower sheer viscosity, very important in engines with a shared gearbox. Use API spec CC 15w 40, and be happy, just change it every 1000 miles! Any more than that, and you are using nothing but water. Steve

    Rear shock bolt torque.

I'm heading out on a 3000 mile run next week, thought I'd lube up the pivot points of the rear shock. First thing I notice is the nut fastening the shock bottom bolt to the cast rising rate casting is less than finger tight!!! looking at it, it appears to be a nylo-nut, but the nylon is missing...

    FJR justification

https://www.bmwmoa.org/forum/showthread.php?t=36308 Gary Egan's record ride from Prudhoe Bay to Key West has been beaten today, by this fellow on an FJR. Check out the fuel tank!!! Steve

    fjr signals and heat

Self cancelling turn signals?? That's kind of Harley Davidson-ish isn't it? I personally think that's a bit much. As for the heat, where do you think 145 hp comes from? Steve

    Phukkin' Harley Dudes

H.D. owners quickly are assimilated towards a herd mentality. They automatically feel anything around them should also be assimilated, kind of like the BORG. Honestly, the vast majority of HD owners are so out and out pretenders in the art of motorcycling. I can't recall the number of incidents...

Do you “Hang Off” your FJR ??????

You must be a 10%er. By far the majority of squids that hold me and my buddies up is some 'pretender' showing us the crack of his ass. Amusing for a while, but just a short while. Steve

Do you “Hang Off” your FJR ??????

Hanging your ass off the seat whilst turning a bike on the street, is for squids and attantion whores. You can shift weight inside to assist turns without sliding around. Steve

Boot dragging on asphalt when cornering

If you're going to use this bike anywhere close to it's capability, you'll be touching feet down, unless you tuck them in out of the way. Steve
